Hey guys, specs in my sig. Before, I was able to run my two 7900GT @ 685/870 voltage modded. Recently, when i tried to run games at this speed, my screen would just freeze and I would have to restart my computer. When I changed to 675/870, it didn't freeze anymore and everything was fine. How come my overclock dropped? My temp in my room is the same if not cooler than before. Both 7900GT are under water and the temps are below 47C all the time. I know that 685/870 was rock stable before because I can run all my games for a very very long period of time, but now, it just freezes and the screen goes black. If it helps, im using the newest drivers which is 91.31. I tried older drivers and I still get the same problem. HElp? Thanks

Did you do pencil mods or resistor mods?

I used a conductive pen as the vcore mod. I did not vmod the memory

There are a lot of problems with these cards, my suggestion would be to leave the core clock as-is and try lowering the memory clocks and see if that helps. Also, test each card individually to find out which one is causing the problem, it might need an RMA and seeing as you have an EVGA, you wont have to worry because they have excellent RMA service as I have had to RMA my 7900gt once and *crosses fingers* luckily havent had any issues as of yet.

Oh, well I was going to say if it was pencil modded you might have to redo it cause sometimes the old lines wear off.

Im testing each card individually... My vmodded card which should be at 1.55V is at 1.45V.. My NONvmodded card which should be at 1.45V is something a bit below that.. That is why the clockspeeds that I initially had (685/870 in SLI) can not be used now.. As a result, i get a black screen and it freezes when i run games. In order to resolve this issue, i have to drop my clockspeeds or run them on stock. But the thing is, I do not know why my voltage for both cards are dipping..

Can you make a picture of your Vmod.
You refer to a non Vmodded 7900GT which is supposed to have 1.45 Volt, this probably means that you have EVGA SS boards, right ?
The Vref of the voltage regulator is stable as a rock, decreasing voltages are not very likely to happen, so your Vmod line is probably interrupted.
