Ave,
Not sure which forum to post this. I have a Maxtor 40GB IDE connected to my P5W DH Deluxe which got corrupted during a Hard Boot. I've already recovered all my data off it using GetDataBack for NTFS.
The Drive shows up as "RAW" for it's File System. How can i convert it back to NTFS? Format isn't helping... it gets stuck at 95% everytime. I've tried so many different tools.
Any suggestions?

Try using the software utilities from the company that makes it. Most of them include diagnostic programs and format stuff to get ya back on track.

I tried Maxtor's MaxBlast & PowerMax... both run their utility and show the format/delete process to be done... yet, there is no change to the drive's condition. It's like they didn't do anything, yet reported that they did. They suck!

can you try fdisk /mbr ?? Or have you tried a different computer as mentioned earlier?
There is a utility out there to completely zero the HDD.. maybe try that as well. ultimatebootcd.com I think has it on the CD

I actually saw ultimate boot cd just a few hours ago. I'm getting that and i'll actually be trying that out tonight.
What does fdisk /mbr do? What's the exact syntax?

fdisk /mbr formats the master boot record.. I saw it in a thread where someone couldn't get linux off their computer. I figured it's something to try, though I think if anything has a chance it's the boot cd / let it zero the drive. Let us know if it works
