I was trying to use my Bernz-o-matic torch on MAPP gas today, and guess what, it didn't work.

I'm not exactly sure why because they're just gases, but no, whenever I use MAPS it works for 3-5 seconds, then the flame gets smaller and the torch just clogs up. After removing it and let it sit for a few min it'll work again and clogs up again unless using propane.

The bernz-o-matic torch has a very tiny pin hole on it I'm not sure if that's why it didn't work but very likely.

I just wanted to see the temp difference lol, perhaps it'll braze without oxygen :P
FYI:
28'C temp
Green coleman propane: 150psi
Yellow bernzomatic MPS: 130psi

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of 'goo' in Mapp that can clog up any torch head, even one designed for Mapp gas. I have one mapp torch that I have to strip and clean regularly because of it. I thought it was a fault with the torch at first, but after the first cleaning I realised it's just 'normal' for some of the heads.

The Bernzo Mapp head doesn't seem to clog up at all, but the Rothenberger one has a valve in the gun (remote gun and flex line to bottle) and that valve is where the 'goo' seems to collect

Cheers
