well.. i spent a long time looking over this board trying to find a logical place for Vcore and Vddr mods.. and sadly couldn't locate much of use.
first chip i looked up turned out to be the vtt termination chip (tiny! ) next was a temperature sensor
there is an intersil ISL6566 near the PWMIC chips

but whatever is controlling the Vddr eludes me! :slap:

thought i'd ask here, where is the vcore measure point for a dmm on this board?

I'm in need of vdimm-mod for the K9N Neo-F, maybe same pwm? I get the board tomorrow so I will check then.
(I can't figure these things out myself, but if I find a mod for my board I'll post it here)

They are different boards though, but I will try to take a few pics of mine when I recieve it tomorrow.

Oddly, that looks like the chip I was prodding with my DMM when I blew up my whole pc on my Neo4 Platinum.. so beware.
I accidentally moved and touched two pins together with the tip of my DMM, and lets just say I had about $500 worth of paperweights if not more..

My camera isn't at home today so no pics from me, but it's the same pwm on this board (ISL6566). We will need (atleast i do) alternative soldering points as this chip is really small.

hope this helps some.

http://www.eclipseoc.com/image/k9n/wee-chip.jpg <--- no idea what this is, but i feel suspicious of it, since there is nothing else i can find that might be setting vdimm
took some voltage readings too. the little chip to the left of the choke is the vtt regulation:

and the other mosfets under the dimms. the one i note as being hot can break 85c at 2.45v. i normally have a heatsink on it. the other one must be HT link voltage

Can you get a clear photo of the small chip near the Vdimm sockets (marked MS-11 BCY03?). I can't find any information about the chip, but it looks like it could be controling Vdimm.
Also, is there any plastic/metal box soldered to the board saying 'MSI corecell' on top of it? I've seen MSI hide voltage regulators under those sometimes.

thanks for the reply :toast:
here's another shot of MS-11. i couldn't find anything on either :'(

there is a chip under core cell sink, but the sink is soldered down, gonna have to take apart the rig to get to that one. it's also relatively far away: under the 6 sata ports, so i have a feeling it's not doing anything to vdimm, though i could be mistaken. visually, it looks like ta tsop chip with.. i think 10 legs on each of the 4 sides.
