according to this (http://uk.theinquirer.net/?article=33148) article l'inq posted, RD600 mobo's should be availibly by the end of august. i really hope this is true because i cant wait to get my hand on one of those babys.
they should also be little overclocking miracle, who knows what the DFI LP RD600 will do
and hearing this baby will beat 975X in OC'ing makes me happy i'm skipping those 975X/P965 boards

Looks like I'm going to wait as well to see what other boards are released. The current crop just isn't cutting it for me.

I contacted Gary from anandtech and he said he thought they would also be out later august or early september

did not see any proof in that article that they will be faster, hope they are:stick:

Do those DFI boards all have 3 pci-e slots like the chip descriptions suggest?

Talk about future proofing...... you could go through 3 generations of graphics cards and still keep all of them (if they work together)

It would be great, and if it were true I might hold of on buying the p5w dh (way to expensive to use for 1 month). But in anandtech's Conroe buying guide (admittedly a few days old now) this was said

"ATI is also launching chipsets for Conroe. RD500, which supports dual X8 PCIe slots, is expected in early September. We are told the pricing will be very attractive, offering a multi-GPU solution at a mainstream price. Later this year RD600 will be launched, with full support for dual X16 PCIe on Core2 Duo."

So who knows?

Most 965 boards were also planned for a June release date.

I really want to wait on RD600, but I don't know how long I could. Having too many problems with my current setup to tolerate for much longer. I have friends offering to help set up a new build, but I'm leaving town on the 18th and it'll probably be a few months until I have the opportunity again after that.

Fugger has one, but he's under NDA. He seemed to think it was worth waiting for.

1 more monthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well it's better than waiting until like around winter like I originally though.
Indepent cpu/mem adjustment is what's got me more interested in Rd600 than the other chipsets.

I was told August/Sept for RD500, and end of year for RD600...

One never knows the truth, but given the state of things at present, I'd say those dates do look likely.

Waiting a month or two is acceptable if we get the right results. Now, where are those previews?

that's why I'm believing December for RD600, no previews atm, which are usually a month before launch, end of August is unlikely for RD600.

In any case, who knows what will happen if AMD and Intel have merged. I remember the ULI chipset issues for the CFX3200-dr, once Nvidia had acquired ULI, the updates for the drivers became very hard to obtain, DFI are still trying to get something working with ULI even now.

Can ATI just us their RD600 board for now? $150 is a pretty good price for something "for now" until the DFI version. =/
