n00b question

i have a pentium D and i was wondering if there is a way i can control what the cores are doing... like multi threading or different applications per core, etc... is this possible? how?

Windows Task Manager allows you to set affinity of each running process to both or any single core you`d like

Ahh, Cooper beat me to it. Also if your wandering why all your single core apps arent performing as well as u thought you can also "hide" the second core from your OS in the same place and it will help you out alot, (no good for multi task obviously)
