I am really not that good at modding and this is going to be my second PC build. So with that in mind, what WCing setups do you guys recommend.

1) Koolance? Which model? Exo perhaps? I am not too good at case moding so the EXO seems appealing. Looks low maintenance but can I overclock well with this setup?

2) Cooltechnica's AguaExtreme water kits look really good also.
I like the AMS gtower case they modified to put all the parts.
Do you guys recommend this kit with a 120mm blow hole and the radiator mounted at the top? Any opinions for this setup?

3) Any kits that are not assembled in the case but are not hard to do, please give me your opinions on those as well. Like swiftech, Innovatech, and other custom kits that are available online.

I think $350.00 - $400.00 might be my limit and I am hoping that price includes a decent case. I want to OC athlons XPs for right.

Just wanted to check with you guys before I waste a lot of money.

Thanks,

AzianAvenger

My friend got one of those Aquaxtreme cases as a review sample. He has since modded it somewhat, but I believe he liked it the way they sent it to him. I would go with that one, with the swiftech components.

Thanks for quick response knightelite!!

I am looking into this aguaextreme cases but to do the swiftech option is going to run the case and all the options near $450.00!

One more question, since you are a fellow WCing enthusiast...what you say the maintenance is like for your rig?

Like do you have to refill the rig with new distilled water/water wetter 1 every 2 months or something?

Just wanted to know any tips before I dive into the "deep end" of H20 cooling.

My tax return is going to be small this year so I am trying to figure my best options on a limited budget.

I hardly have to do anything with mine... except that for one thing. My pump is somewhat cracked, but it only leaks if the water gets too hot, so when the intake air into the rads gets to about 27ÂșC, it starts leaking really slowly. I'll get around to fixing it eventually, but for now, I just leave it as is, and refill it once in a while. If it didn't leak, then it would take months before I had to do anything.

Maintenance is low in a wc setup if you bleed the system well and you are using good tubing like tygon with my silicon tubing i have to refill every two months or so

Dont waste your time on prefab kits.

Heres what you buy.

Maze 3 or TC-4
Eheim 1250
DD Z-Block
10ft Tygon R-3603 1/2ID 1/8 wall tubing
Heatcore combo from DTEK

For the case buy a Lite-On FS020

www.dtekcustoms.com will sell most of it

www.dangerden.com sells the z-block for the northbridge

www.usplastics.com sells the tubing

http://www.outsideloop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=olcomp&Product_Code=FS020-NPS&Category_Code=liteon And that is the case

Heres some pics of my setup with that case.

Notice that you cant see the pump. Its because this case is large enough that you can hide it behind the floppy drive cage.

I'm with him.

I built that exact setup.

It is the lips.

I'm gonna use the same setup for my duallie, I have built 2 others in Lian-Li pc60's and they are functional but nowhere as need as the Lite-On setup.

You can buy all the goodies at dangerden, so you won't have to shop through various website. I'm very happy with my maze3 and the setup i bought from dd
ps if you're short on cahs, the dd z block is not a necesity, it's better to buy a gpu cooler. The nb doesn't get so hot that it need wc

Unless you are pumping 2.0volts of VDD through it :)

If you put a good nb heatskink, wouldn't that be enough? (just asking for my own information)

Upto about 215-220 a aftermarket would be fine i guess. But anything over i would watercool for the increased stability in 3D.

Getting 215-220 on my front side bus will be excellent! I don't know how to volt mods on my motherboard or anything so a little fan and AS3 on the NB will have to do for now.

I appreciate the comments and advice.

Where can I get one of those Lite-on cases and sminker did you custom mount 2 92mm exhaust fans on your case?

That's a nice whitewater block you got btw. and what kind of water block you have on the northbridge?

And antipop what do you mean in aftermarket NB cooler...do you mean a different heatsink and fan? I have no idea what good NB coolers are available right now.

Take care,

AzianAvenger

:EDIT: - I am a dumbarse, you answered my questions in your post...I was blind and didnt see them. Jump the gun on my post!!! I will check out those links for the WCing supplies, case and such. Thanks again

Hey sminker, I notice just now that you have two fans connected to your Dtek combo radiator. How does that work? Are both 120mms pulling air in the case?

I think I am going to copy your setup... just wanted to know how many clamps and Ts should I purchase.

Thanks for helping a noob out

I was thinking about the zalmann (with a fan added) or the vantec iceberq
