Converting dvd to mpeg.

how do u do it (what progs/utils)? i tried to unite all *.vob's to 1 .vob file by Smart Ripper and then to convert with TMPEnc, but i didn't fill the "Audio Source File" field and that's why the converted mpeg file was without sound. is it necessary to separate sound from the film before converting?

Check out DVDDecrypter!

VOBs are MPEGs. You can also rip chapter by chapter; try DVD Decrypter in IFO mode, selecting only 1 audio and subtitle stream and change the resultant VOB extension to MPG.

thanx to all. i heard Gordian is also very good convertor, but i need manual/guide or smthg else to understand it. do u know where can i get it?

AutoGK is a very good tool, but it is slow, and spyware ridden.

The app i use mainly is a bit older - Xilisoft's DVD Ripper 2.9 i think. Does DVDs (no modern ones, though, sadly) to DivX properly. Shoot me a pm for more :)
