Hi! I have an interesting Radeon 9800 from GeCube with 256MB of RAM.
It has Hynix 3.3 ns TS0P RAM chips and an R360 GPU. It presents itself as a 9800 XT because of that GPU. Photos of the bare card:
- gecube-r9800-front (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/gecube-r9800-front-bare.jpg)
- gecube-r9800-back (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/gecube-r9800-back-bare.jpg)
After some detective work I found two chips which handle voltages:
- Semtech SC 1175 CSW for Vgpu (datasheet (http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/42501/SEMTECH/SC1175CSW/datasheet.pdf), actual pic (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/gecube-r9800-back-sc1175csw.jpg), stock voltages (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/sc1175csw.png), vmod (http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/articles/guides/R9700_Vmod_1.html))
- Anpec APW 7037 A for Vmem (datasheet (http://www.anpec.com.tw/products/download/pdf/APW7037a6.pdf), actual pic (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/gecube-r9800-back-apw7037a.jpg), stock voltages (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/apw7037a.png), vmod (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1047935&postcount=21))
I assume which voltage each chip regulates because of my capacitor measurements (http://freeweb.siol.net/jaba26/FORUMS/XtremeSys/gecube-r9800-voltages.jpg) on the card itself. It also seems pretty standard for SC1175CSW to supply gpu voltage on other Radeon cards. I also assume that Vgpu = 1.7 V and Vmem=2.65 V on my card (yellow in the photo).
If I've done my research right, I should do the following:
- Vgpu: 20kOhm or 10kOhm pot between pin 18 of SC1175CSW and ground (preferably on the mobo/case)
- Vmem: 10kOhm pot between pin 1 of APW7037A and ground
I just need confirmation if this is correct... thanks a bunch!
