Email problem

Forum software was doing fine. But lately I noticed that it does not send to me an email when I get a private message or when someone posts to a topic I posted to before (subscribed).

I have this option checked in my settings and used to work.

I would be grateful if admin would take a look into this whenever s/he has some free time.

There have been some problems for the past couple of days.
Fugger is working on it to have it fixed, but I can't tell you how much longer it will take.

I noticed the forums were down for 15mins this week, but for me I still don't get mails. Tis OK though as I just use the subscribed thread link, the first page when you click "USER CP".

Yeah same here, after I registered I never got an activation/confirmation email, so I just browsed/viewed the site and never posted :P. Thanks Guys for clearing this up.

I did not get my activation email either and I had another problem I wasn't happy about that caused me to not be able to post here for a week: I used a long password (19 chars, as is my norm) and it accepted the password but when I tried to log in it didn't work. Today I decided to just try and keep cutting chars off the end until it worked, finally it did at 15. So it truncated 4 chars off my password without even telling me, and of course password reminder emails are not showing up as well. :(

But at least it looks like it is working now (my ability to post, not the emails).

Ah, glad I checked this. I guess Fugger or one of the other mods activated my account for me since I never got an activation email either. Glad that I can finally post :toast:

Dam!, I couldn't post all weekend because I changed my email address.
I thought the forum emails were getting blocked by a spam filter so I thought using another address would help.
Apparently this locked me out waiting admin authorization.
I've been checking back ever since and finally can post again.
I understand the admins might be busy but this needs to seriously be addressed.

I have never gotten areply e-mail to new posts or PMs. I dont think i ever will. This is one of the main reasons why I don't post here very much. I never know when I need to reply. And none of the other forums I have been a member of has had a problem like this for as long as this.

It used to work very well, and often faster than most other forums i visit (some would have a good 5-10 minute delay before sending the email twice). This one didn't fail until early July I think. It's really quite annoying not knowing when to reply etc - I'm glad I'm not the only one. I now have my User CP as a bookmark button on Firefox, just to make it easier. Usually I'm just waiting to see answers to some questions others have posted and subscribe but can't do this without difficulty anymore :(.

the option has probably been turned off in the admin panel, perhaps bandwidth saving?

It is annoying though, as you don't know when to reply to a topic, unless you go through the user cp subscrition shebang..

Email server still isn't up....just hang tight, it'll work when it's back up and you'll get your emails (not retroactively though....too many emails :eek: ).
