Hey guys,
I just searched a bit about Mach I as I still love my one http://ugly.plzdiekthxbye.net/small/s278.gif
As they are almost oldtimers now I decided to get some hints collected about the controller. Thanks to Oszillo from Extremecooling.net for the manual of the controller and repairing my one
There where some things about it here, sure, but topics are old, so I'll give it a refresh ;)
1. Type of options
2. How to enter the hidden options
3. Calibration
4. Alarm Delay
5. Fix Error5
1. Type of options
- P14 on the first pic showing calibration offset with minimum value of -99 and max of +99, default value is 0
- C18 maybe important for some of you as well as you can choose between °C and °F
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=49415&d=1153257331
- second picture shows values for high and low temperature alarm which might cause Error5
- additionally there is an option where you can set an alarm delay, means the system can STFU for at least 2 hours before beeping with Error 5
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=49416&d=1153257331
2. How to enter hidden options
- press "PRG/mute" on your Mach I controller for 5s and you will enter a hidden menu
- now search the options shown in the manual with the arrows e.g. P14 for the calibration and press SEL
- iirc P14, P25-P28, and P1 are the options in this menu
- there might be other menus for other options shown in the manual, I have to do more research or sb. knows more?
3. Calibration
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=49417&d=1153257331
- almost fully explained, see 2.
- use measurement device and compare to shown value
- measured value minus shown value should be offset
- my was: -53 - (-35) = -18 as a value
- enter value and press SEL - you're done
- refreshing speed still might be a bit strange, my one needed a bit time but always showed accurat afterwards (hope you can see the display, it is a bit dark)
- widely known sensors are not accurate that much even with this calibration, read several things about additional resistors as a solution but no experiences in this
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=49419&d=1153257719
4. Alarm delay
- this is P28
- when you use your Mach I for benching only 2 hours without Error5 might be enough for you
- simply set maximum delay and you're done
- it's running that way here at the moment
5. Fix Error5
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=49418&stc=1&d=1153261104
- from what I understood P25 should cause the Error5 as it is low temp alarm
- the values where fixed and I was told that is was working on idle for days for repair check
- when I used it the Error5 returned (after 2 hour delay) so this wasn't a true Error5 FIX for me, but maybe it could work for you (I re-checked and set the values but no luck here and as far as I read nowhere else :( )
- sure possibility to solve "cold temp bug" without any resistors: use calibration offset so that display won't reach the temp anymore, you know what offset you have, so you still have an idea about your normal running temp.
Manual hint from ThorLite: Everyone can download the manual from the website of carel the company that makes the controller and the manual is written in both Italian and english.
Maybe most of you know all this, hope you like it anyway
:toast: to all Mach I owners http://ugly.plzdiekthxbye.net/medium/m008.gif
