I'd like to get some basica recommendations...
I can get a 20cf cylinder (empty, with new 10 year DOT test) for about $65 shipped. How long will 20cf last?
Regulators, whats a good price to pay (i beleive tank inlet is standard 580).
Filling up the tank, co2 or nitrogen maybe argon? Co2 would give me a refrigerant as well. :p:

Anyone answer any other questions in my first post?
I hear don't purge with propane anymore, (and I still do) so I think that these people who don't purge with propane should be speaking up right about now.

Not a bad price it would seem, but then for $30 more you can get a 40cf. So I'm wondering if 20cf is a lot to begin with and 40cf is overkill, or get the 20cf and fill it when it runs out?

I got a 1/2m3 cilinder for U$S50 and a new nitrogen regulator for U$S35, I think it's good enough for hobby.
Same with the Oxi-gas, a 1/2m3 oxigen cilinder and 5kg butane gas.

That'd be half a cubic metre. Nitrogen is just a lot safer to purge with then Propane due to it's non-flammability. There will be no noticible different in the oxidation reducing effect of either, you're just less like to make yourself into a human bbq with Nitrogen. Not to mention it's the HVAC industry standard.

Have you checked the price of a prefilled helium tank? While helium is more expensive in large quantities, it might be cheaper in small quantities due to its demand.

Not sure if you have SuperStore down in the US (they sell pretty much everything) but you can get a prefilled bbq tank sized helium tank for $30.

I would like to get something like that in Europe, i'm from Portugal, here they want tank rent contract, wich is a bit expensive.
Would like to buy a little tank, like Ssilencer said, for hobby is enought, nothing professional.
I'm kinda ugry becuse all my systems i've done, never purged  , so i think i can do something better than i've made.
My cascade attempt is being made without purge:slapass:

Firstly, don't buy a tank from the US because the regulations that we need in Europe are PI, not Dot.
Secondly, I heard from my paintballing that you can rent a CO2 tank from BOC gasses for GB£40/year and get it refilled for GB£9. I don't think that is a large price to pay for rental, but if you really must buy a tank, I'm pretty sure that BOC will sell them.
Other than that, I guess you could go into a hire shop and see if you can buy an old tank from them.

Does the Beer(the one that comes from the chiller) CO2 tanks work too? maybe some company could refill it?
