As the title says really.

Recently I have used the red button (underneath a persons avator on their posts to alert of a bad post) rather than arguing and was wondering what process the complaint goes through as it sometimes gets acted upon instantly and sometimes it takes a while.

P.S. I'm not certain on where to post this so i put it here and i didnt want to clutter a mod/admins pm box :p:

TIA :toast:

Other forums have it send out an email and PM to the Mod in charge of the forum section. Some fourms have it set to be anonymous, others don't.

Like you said, the "bad" post is forwarded to a moderator of that section.
It's then up to him to decide whether that post needs edited or other actions are taken.
Not all mods are online 24/7, so sometimes, it might take some time before they eventually take care of it.

FYI, it brings up a page that has abox for your explanation of why you're reporting it, so no harm if you accidently click it.

I mainly use it when rules are broken. PMing the rule breaker doesn't seem to make a difference, so I just report the post in question.
