View Full Version : P5WDH-DL @ 500 FSB with E6600ES SPI 1MB Stable

CPU cooled by XKimo
Chipset cooled by Mach1
vcore: 1,675
vmch: 2,12
BIOS: 0701
RAM 4:3 4,4,4,12
More fsb is possible. Believe above 500 but I am limited by cpu. Need more vcore.
Some issues:
- this board doesn't like 1:1 for the ram
- FSB really increased with multi 9. Multis below and less fsb
- With vcore set in bios above 1,675 the vcore drops to 1,34 (1,685 in Bios) and 1,56 (1,7 in Bios) measured with MM. Pity otherwise should have achieved above 500 fsb. Have to try other bioses...

As always incredible work
You did your homework very very well indeed .
Lets hope that with the newcomer that board will fly under your xkimo .
For you what is the best issue in the p5w dh ?
For now that is the limit on the fsb ?
Have you got alredy the new unit on the chipset ?

Well, it's perfect for RMA :P They won't figure out how it died even with a CSI team :P

Thanks people :)
Zulusman, in load this mobo drops 0,02V measured with MM. I think vdroop not needed unless it solves the problem of vcore above 1,675V...
Micutzu, no vcore yet m8... will try other bioses to see if vcore above 1,675 is possible :)
I had vmch @ 2,17 for some testing... no problems so far :)
Found as well that vfsbmod limited my fsb. Better to keep it at max in bios and no mod :)
Jokker, my friend, limit so far is 490 but I think is cpu limit no fsb. Multis below less fsb..
Yes mach1 cooling chipset

Nice work.
sorry for :stick: but what is 1MB stable :slap:
Hope it's just a spelling mistake, would wonder me - such overclock but missunderstood Pi ;)

"PI stable" indicates the fact that such FSB is stable enough to do a run of PI1m and thats about it I guess, nowhere he said that PI1m stable = rock stable.
Nice job phasing the NB, odjr
if just you could run that FSB 1:1 with ram it would be :woot:

Could not explained (was it necessary? :)) better. Thank you :)
I'm not good enough with english language :)
Ya 1:1 should be great but not possible with this board :(

lol you totally missunderstood me...title says 1MB but it's 1M as it means 1million digits not 1MB...was wondering about this mistake in the title and was j/k...sorry I make too much confusion here :slapass:

;) no problem (hope you don't think I'm one of the ones hunting for spelling mistakes :p: )
Anyway still love the Mach I chipset cooling, will there come E6700 or 6800 to you? Your "base" would be perfect for these :toast:
PS: unfortunatly the topic title itself won't get updated just the subject line of the first post :(

Why cant you run 1:1?? Ram cant handle it?? Really nice clocks. I think its time for LN2 on chipset.

I think that because of mobo don't like high fsb and 1:1 ...

Waiting for 6800 :)
Yes, the board can't handle 1:1 with fsb above 460 in my case. Tried with 3 different sets of RAM

" Note: In order for a Core 2 DUO (Conroe) processor to work with the Asus P5W DH Deluxe mainboard you may require to perform a BIOS update which will require an older processor or contacting Asus for a new BIOS chip. OcUK does not provide a BIOS flashing service and will not accept used product back unwanted as this board does support Conroe with Asus latest BIOS "
Somebody know if this is true ?

Yes that is indeed true, i had to flash the bios with my 940D, then it just went black and could not boot up.
Trough my E6600 in, and it bootes fine.
However, i believe i read somewhere that the new revisions of this board should have the bios on it for conroe, so you can just boot up.
But i´m NOT totally sure.
Nice results.
I can´t get my 6600 over 3,63, on water

there is a sticker on the bios chip, if it says " 0701" it will work out of the box with conroe :)
