well done dumo i have thew same board here just got it today, i was a bit worried as i saw the 370fsb factor but went for it anyway, it seems the dfi has a tighter latency on the chipset as your super pi is as fastas the asus or badaxe at same clocks with the lower memory divider, have you tried the ram in the other 2 slots

hi waus mod, i also have the same board craps out at 369fsb, but on checking its a lot faster than the asus or badaxe at the same spped in superpi, i have a 6600 step 5 and also have managed to use my low profile lanfreezer watercooling block on the chipset off my nforce board, so the chipset idles around 33 , i had it up to 369 then it went awol and now i can't get it either up there again any tips with this dfi board

you have to play with the divider. you need the "slow" divider to get past the fsb wall, someone yelled about the 5:4 divider, but i cant test it myself (yet) so im not sure if thats the one..

I have been trying for the last day to get my E6600 to even post using this board
I have an 830D that I have used to change settings, I have tried all the ram settings from 400 upto 667, I have tried really loose timings with no luck, I have tried with just one stick of my G.Skill 6400 with no luck, tried upping Vcore, NDv etc etc and each time I do any change I then put the E6600 back in but each time its the same.....................nothing, no post, no bios, I have even changed/tried every bios with no luck
I have now swapped over CPU's 16 times and I am now convinced this Conroe is dead :stick: :(
So this mobo can't do +400fsb? Next month upgrading to C2D and I have been looking the best mobo for E6400 and the Asus P5W DH Dlx seems to be best for cpu's with low multi example E6300 & E6400 but it seems to have lot of problems so the DFI looks better and more stable. I have also thought Bad Axe but it doesn't seem that good for low multi cpu. What do you guys think which one is best?

will post this on a couple of the other threads regarding bios updates
Hi guys, Hope this isn't a really stupid question but..... I have a X6800 on the same board but I can't get my CPU Volts higher than 1.3???? That's the highest option the board gives me. Does anyone know why??
Many thanks,
eOn.

08-03-2006, 02:16 PM
i'd ask dumo on this thread as he has a x6800, i must admit i have viewed many posts about the dfi 975 and have not seen anyone else with the same problem i would probably advise to reflash the bios and use the 31/07 bios
Yep that's what I thought, so I have tried both the new BOIS and the last one. Both only give me 1.3Volts MAX. There i one thing. On my PCP&C 510 PSU I only have a 4 Pin P4 connecter. Now the DFI has an 8 pin version. Dumo are you using a 8 pin P4 connector?? Maybe that's why I only get 1.3 Volts. It does say in the manual that it's OK to fit a 4 pin version but it never explains the difference if you don't!
Thanks.
Any ideas? Dumo? I wanted to figure this out before fitting my mach 2gt to it. Also I only get x11 multi in my CPUZ why do you guys get (x6 x11)?? I know it makes no difference and mine will change from 6 to 11 but I never see both like in your screen shot. Does this have anything to do with it?
I would really appreciate some help with this. Thanks in advance.

hmmmm... Looks like i need to get my hands on this board as well... everything need to be tried in the search of the needed speed...P5W DH doesnt quite seem to cut it...
Great mate but if you do get one can you let me know if you get the full V Core settings?? I only get up to 1.3V!!!

Thanks.I used 8 pins psu and bios 0707. Can you try it with different psu?
I think I will. I don't have a PSU with a server harness (the 8 pin version) so I guess I'll just buy one. I have also ordered a 4 to 8 pin adapter but I'll only use it to test it. It's very odd that a PCP&C would not supply enough Volts. But does that sound like it's the problem, would that cause the motherboard to not allow me to select more than 1.3v?
Right this is driving me mad. I have plugged in an 8 pin 12 volt and I still only get up to 1.35 volts.
Now am I being really daft? These are the options I see in my BIOS:
CPU VID Offset (up to 787.5mv) Do I need to use this as well as the CPU voltage to get more than 1.35?? (I'm sure this won't work, isn't 1000mv in a Volt)?
CPU VTT Voltage setting (Up to 1.35v)
DRAM Volt
NB Volt.
OK so are you setting yours up to 1.7 in the CPU VTT or do you add on the CPU VID Offset???
Thanks in advance.
Tom.

OK so are you setting yours up to 1.7 in the CPU VTT or do you add on the CPU VID Offset???
Maybe its like 'Special CPU VID Control' ?
You would try a small increase of CPU VID Offset, and look at the voltage.

Heres my DFI.
weird board.
does not like 2 gigs of ram at all.
does not work with 4 dimms filled.
does not pass 950 mhz on ram, regaurdless of using my Pentium D 930 or E6400.
cannot run 1:1 or higher, when passing 400 FSB... no matter what cas.
I've had this board for about a month, but this is the first time I used it with my E6400 that I got about a week ago.
so far, this board OC's better then my DS3 on actual MHZ, but way less on the ram....
great board, if you want low latency, and high Mhz.

Results so far for me using latest Bios
1. The computer may boot at default CPU clock even though the post screen says otherwise? Hum, never seen this one before?
2. No apparent support for running additional SATA disk/s if you are using raid.
3. Boots to default CPU FSB if 400 split is used in the memory settings no matter what.
4. Boots to desktop quickly however task-bar (Ethernet and virus software) items load slow. Never have seen this one either.
