I was frantically trying to find a leak on a system here when she was constantly losing pressure then found this.
I was dumbstrucked and it once again proven one thing, do not use cheap tools, I thougth its only charging lines but obviously not, straigt to the bin and on with my CPS lines, 100%

Wooooo....that's nasty.
Its good that you are ok, as that could have turned out quite badly...

When I started with phase change I also had such cheap charging hoses. Had the same problem as you, they got small leaks after some time. Now I use Refco hoses and no problems up to now.

These hoses are made by refco, about 9 months old

I have several Refco hoses for about 1 year, and they are fine.
When these Refco hoses are crap too I don't know which company makes better hoses. Refco is/was known for quality tools.

not all hoses are of same construction... even from same company. For example yellow jacket has 2 lines... one for 1500 psi or so and the other for 3000 psi or so...

These were cheap, perhaps the budget refco line

Companys like Refco, RitchieYellow Jacket ,& Robinair always you could count on for highest quality tools, but not any more. Ridgid & Rothenburger still stayed away from the generic tool line but many of their tools have been copied.
ritchie yellowjacket and robinair now carry their premimium line and a generic line of tools. While Refco went to all generic tools unless you find old stock.
Companies like mastercool appear to have quality tools but they are all generic copies of the orginals. The same goes for Bacharach hand tools, while their electronic monitors are the tops in the world. Its hard to tell unless you have experience and know the history of tools so you can tell the differance between good and generic tools.
This is especially true with vacuum pumps, robinair has their original "cool tool" line and now a foreign line. Other companies are doing the same.
Its seems to me most companies have given in to the" bottom Line" over "Quality".
many of the high quality toolss that were made by usa companys now have EXCACT copies made by generic companies.

This is sad indeed, you think you are buying a quality brand and you get the cheap line generic parts :(

Do they make charging hose out of flex steel? That'll be pretty damn durable but not very flexible though.

Yes they do... the "suction line" we use with braided is actually more of vacumming charging hose that was used :P
now... I honestly can't afford having enough for my 6 sets of manifold, and I will be just happy with the higher quality of imperial line or yellow jacket line for time being. But... yes the hoses seep through eventually.
I recommend ball valves and quick disconnect combo for this exact reason for extended testings.

For my autocascade I am going to try and use solid copper tubing to connect to my pressure gauges to hopefully avoid having that happen, especially on the liquid CO2 line =\

Not only use quality tools, also inspect your tools thoroughly before each usage.

Good idea, anyone know about the integrity of Uniweld tools? I got my manifold from them for cheap off ebay, but I liked it since it was brand new

Today I threw away another set of charging lines made by CPS. Of the same low quality as refco.
The only line I have left that does not leak is made by yellow jacket
