Xbox 360 - Assistance on networking needed

Ive got an Xbox360 and I am still waiting for my WiFi adapter. Looking at the manual, it would seem I can connect it via an ethernet port to my PC the internet will work if I enable the internet connection sharing on my PC.

My ethernet port is free as I am connected via a USB Wireless adapter.

Have I interpreted this correctly?

Correct, that would work, but would require your PC to be on, whilst using the XBOX.

EDIT: You also need to use a cross-over CAT5 cable between the PC and XBOX, NOT a normal CAT5 patch lead
