Thanks for the kinds words beacause its mine :D but its a mach1 ;)

lol... small world eh!!
Glad you spotted it tho... But I have to admit that your case and the orac3 are the best two Ive ever seen!
I really would love to see the same doen to two Coolermaster Wavemaster cases... unfortunately I have not enough skill to complete the job to your standards!
Very well done tho mate, its gorgeous :)
I'd love to do a wavemaster as well have thought about it, but unsure how best
to make the base that looks right with the topunit.
Believe be I took my time something like 3months so i did not make any stupied
mistakes and alignment was hard.
The Coolermaster cases have raised ridges on the base inside so all the mounting holes
had to be re-done, then new bolt holes on the Prommy unit and Coolermaster case.
Scary stuff esp when you think how much these cases sold for back in 2001/2002
Ended with an rather interesting sound as well due to the sound insulation stuff used as well, it has this loverly breathing type sound to it.
Heavy though took it to a Lan once never took anywhere else since lol.

for the dual evaps about 1.8m of 0.031, didnt want it too cold as this will be an exhibit unit running SLI cards whole days and can't have too huge insulation on the cards.
the base is thicker than that, while the covers are just a bit thinner.

I'm thinking of setting up something like what you have there, but instead of bringing them from the right I was thinking of setting them up on the far left (to the back of the case).
I just wanted to know if it was not a good idea to put them there or if there was something that I hadn't thought of yet that would kill my plans.
Anyways, I think they look cool were you put them. I might just have to go back to the drawing board.:)

If the tube has a metal core, you should be ok. If it is rubber lined then you may have problems with refrigerant diffusing through the rubber lining

LardArse,
Were you able to get equal gas to each evap on your video cards? If so, how? Just making the cap tube the same length? Do they both produce the same temps? That is the problem I keep running into and I'm now considering installing a CPEV. How about the same issue only with the cpu evap? How did you regulate it? Thanks ...very nice rig! :D
LardArse
04-23-2005, 07:48 AM
The lower one would tend to get a bit more for some reason... easy way is to run shorter cap tubes, flood em nicely, get ample of refrigerant going, then it wouldnt be an issue but of course, no vaccuumic low temps.

VERY nice! Extremely compact.
Is the compressor far enough away from the backside of the mobo to prevent your mobo from absorbing dissapated heat from the compressor?
Eradicator
04-23-2005, 04:26 PM
The compressor doesnt seem to transer any of the heat, Its close to a half inch from the plate the mobo sits on, and the mobo is on standard case mounts from the mobo tray, The mother board tray doesnt seem to absorb any of the heat.. As far as temps go, I didnt bother with a temp probe on the evap, but speedfan using the motherboard sensor with my winnie 3000+ at 2850mhz @ 1.710v priming It shows around -20C full load and idles below -30C (board sensor goes wacky past that and reads -98C). The compressor Is nothing fantastic, but it was free and i threw this project together from start to finish in one day, so Im happy with it.. Also those temps are via the mobo so we all know that they are probably no where near accurate, if even close..

yo thedude, the only reason why equal cap lengths dont work sometimes is... the filter/drier.... different angles of tilt would cause different amounts of vapour and liquid to go into each cap tube. So either its one striaght 90 degree down , or tilt the filter around a bit at diff angles to get the evaps to frost up equally fast :D
