Well, after an aweful lot of money has gone out and a large pile of parts has appeared in my room, it was finally time to start putting it all together so I can get off this damn laptop and onto a real machine.

First off, the parts:
PA120.3
DCC+ Plus with Alphacool top
Swifty Storm (I think it's a Rev2)
Maze4 GPU block
Maze4 Chipset block
15ft of 1/2" Clearflex
Swifty Micro-Res (May swap for a T-Line, depends what the layout ends up as)
Worm drive clamps
Lian-Li V2000B ;)

The pump(s) will be in place of one of the HDD racks via the use of some Alu angle.

The rad will be mounted on top of the case, with three Yates.

All other fans in the case will be replaced with Yates.

The only sources of noise in the case:
DVD drive
PSU fan (Tagan TG580-U15 so it is quite quiet)
5x Yates
HDDs, 1x Raptor and 1x Maxtor
Pump (DCC, so should be quiet !!)

The fans have been replaced, and I have just cut out the hole for the rad. It still needs to be bolted down fully, but here's some pics:

C&C ? :)

nicely done...more pics?

Not yet, I'm just finishing off the rad - Bolting it down etc.
Tomorrow I will probably work on the pump mountings.

I still need to decide if I'm going to runa T Line or a res. I have a Swifty Micro-Res but I'm unsure where I should put it. Any ideas ?

Very nice. Simular to mine except I'm using a v1000 :D

hm. i would prefer an internal mount. but ok. looking foreward to se the rest!

Cheers. :)

Well I was going to do an internal mount, but I decided against that because:
1) I wanted to use a shroud - I'm going to move onto a TEC cooled GPU so I need to get the best out of my rad.
2) Pipework would be even tighter than it already is. I use 1/2"ID 3/4"OD tubing so I needed to budget for that.
3) I'd like access to my SATA connectors on my MOBO please. :P

koola: Nice work. :) No hose clamps though ? What are your temps like ?

Okay guys I hit a few problems.

1) I can't find a decent hacksaw right now, so the pump will just have to sit on the bottom of my case.
2) My PSU is a Tagan TG-580-U15 and I can't for the life of me work out how I'm ment to put it in. The backplate wants to mount it so that the intake fan is pulling in air from the bottom of the case, not the large body of open air above it. Also the PSU / HDD divider is in the way of the cables. Can anybody with a V2000 please post pics of their PSU installation ? Cheers.

Arrr !! Problem after problem after problem !!!

I have just stripped down my Maze4 GPU to change the barbs over and clean it out, and the copper base is REALLY poorly machined. Where the water starts and ends, there are sharp blocks and where the rubber seal goes around the edge it's really poorly machined and bumpy.

My Maze4 Chipset however is really well machined, I dont get it. :/

Sorry for the recent lack of pics, my camera's battery run out and I couldn't find the charger.

Right .. Well it's in a working state now. I still have to replace some cables and braid them but the water loop is running now. The system is on the x64 version of Vista Beta2 so I havnt got much to test / measure temps with. All temps are gotten using Everest.

I am using ATI tool's 3D Display for loading the CPU, and I cannot measure the GPU temps due to Vista x64's poor support for drivers.

Turning off the fans seems to make no difference what so ever to the temps. However I can only turn off two of the three fans due to one of the fans being plugged into the motherboard instead of my Rheobus.

I have Air-Con in my room, so room temp is around 20C.

This CPU used to do 51C loaded on air, it has quite a bad IHS mount so it gets hot. :(

Overclock is 50%, so this 3000+ is running at 2700Mhz @ 1.525V. I have gained no overclock by watercooling it. :( My PC is now near silent however, bar the noise from the HDDs (Raptors are noisey :() and my PSU.

CPU Temps
Idle (8% CPU Usage): 40C
Load (100% CPU Usage): 40C

Yup, with very basic testing, I have temp delta which is less than 1C. When I get XP installed (Friday maybe.) I will be able to get some proper temps.

This Lian-Li V2000 with all fans swapped for Yates is GREAT at keeping HDD temps down, my previous temps were with a HDD cooler on the Raptor and no cooler on the Maxtor. I now have no coolers on the HDDs other than the 120mm Yate infront of them.

Before
Raptor: 30C
Maxtor: 40C

After
Raptor: 29C
Maxtor: 29C

Finally some pics. I havn't bolted in the PSU yet, when I find my pop-rivet gun I'll reverse the PSU plate and bolt it in how it is currently. I am using 15 units (Units on an insulin syringe, unsure what they equate to in real-world measurements.) Of Deep Blue DyeLite. (I think that's what it is.)

Hehe cheers. :toast:

It's a shame that with the dye being so diluted it isn't UV reactive though. :( I don't want to put more in though through fear of blocking up my Storm.

Nice setup you have there :)
Do you mind me asking where you got your ddc? I'm in the UK too and looking for the cheapest place to order from.
