They will BS sometimes and charge you if you use it too much, but you should be firm with them and tell them you do have unlimited messaging.

Phone companies like to pull pranks like this off so the weak willed get shafted :p:

Seriously though, call them and talk to them in a harsh manner. If they refuse to refund threaten to cancel your plan with them and sue them for their lies.

A friend used to work for a phone company here, and he said that the first thing they learn is: never ever let a customer cancel. If a customer cancels and its traced back to them, they have a good chance of getting fired.

I had a cell at Fido, they stopped sending me bills awhile ago, I was like wtf did I get a free plan or something? Then they sent a text message saying there's an outstanding balance of $198, so I told them fork it, I don't get bills on time, I won't pay. Now they stopped sending me bill and cancelled my plan, which I wanted to get rid of anyway and switch to a better one at another company.
