sorry, but where is the extreme part in this topic ?
Isn't this where benchmark scores go? this is where I have always posted them, but I haven't been around for a while. I will be overclocking the graphics card too. Just running stock tests now

note: my cpu (see sig for other rig specs) was around 2.59GHz for that test
mine doesn't have a power connecter, not sure if that limits your overclock. Remember reading something on here about it a long time ago. But my core only does about 575 max, still testing the memory

no 6600GT has a power connector that i know of. whatcha talkin about?
oh ok... well there was a spot for one on it, and the holes for the molex connector to mount on. Maybe they use the same pcb for other boards. I remember a thread on certain brand cards not having a power connector and other ones having it. but i dont even remember what card it was, could have even been an ati card :p:

I'm at 69.5k right now, I try to get cpu clock higher and I should be able to top that

yea, sometimes they have those there for when they were testing the card before it was all "i dont need 80kagillion watts" 'n stuff.
what cpu & gpu clocks for the 69.5k score?

6600gt for AGP does have a power connector due to the AGP's bus lower allowed power draw.
I actually have soldered on a power connector to a PCI-E version as well...;)

ohh, forgot about the AGP one.
how much did it help to solder one one?

Sad part is, I also soldered on a couple of trimpots on it, and on first try I dropped the screwdriver and shorted the card when adjusting them "live".
Hahaha, that a true pro at work...:D
nn_step now has it, maybe he got it to work...if someone can it's him.
It was a Leadtek and it looked like this after the mod:

575 is ok for gpu ..what is the memory clock at ?
I have a couple of leadteks that are about 570/1300 not topped out. Last time I tried them I could not get them to work in SLi so maybe one is defunct.

i have got 700/1400 out of my GT, look @ ORB
03 ~ 12000 p
05 5300 p
it was running 570/1310 and cpu at 333x8 with 3/4 divider
Any ways to get more out of the 6600gt without vmods, i read about increasing the pci-e frequency on 7900's helped them clock higher. Is this the case with 6600's as well?

i didn't do to much with the pci-e frequency, but i upped it to 105, 110, and i think 115. didn't seem to make a difference. but it's still worth a shot.

changing 100 to 130 MHz. helps my memory to clock 20 to 30 Mhz. higher
I tested mine with 100MHz vs 125MHz. Everything picked up points running 125MHz. 127MHz was all that i could do without HDD corruption on SATA or PATA drives so don't get too crazy with your PCIE frequencies unless you don't care about the partion table or OS you're testing with.
Adding a powerful fan blowing over the video card PCB should improve your clocks aswell without too much effort.
Yea I haven't had too much time to mess around with it yet. I will take the sidepanel off and stick a fan there :toast:

did it pick up points at the same clocks? or could you (also?) get higher clocks on the 6600GT?

Mine does... Sparkle 128MB:confused:
if it's agp, then yea, it's already been pointed out that the agp versions of the 6600GT have power connectors because the agp bus cannot provide enough voltage.
if not, then

Yeah, my bad... sold the PCI-e one... mixing them up... I need coffee....:D
Another challenge :D
My 2nd rig, nothing special really, all air, no voltmods, evga 6600gt 600/630, dothan 2.85Ghz
Let me tell you again, dothan is the fastest single core cpu for 3D (and SP)

what about yonah?
and... i cant touch that score with my current cpu. ya got me both on pure clocks and a better architecture.
I wish my dothan was pci-e, but i sold it. well still have the chip, no board. It does about 2750 and scores over 15k cpu, its a monster chip

very nice
might have to see if i can do anything about that in a few days. ;)

I was running same card clocks with different PCIE speeds however i never tested for higher memory or GPU speeds. Someday when i'm really bored i'll prolly fab up a DI tube and give all my AGP and PCIE cards hell just for fun. I doubt that won't happen until sometime after Thanksgiving though.
I like seeing you guys flogging the 6600GT's, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling :D Give 'em hell :toast:

cooled by an SI-120 with a high flow panaflow 120mm, idk what stepping it is, haven't had the heatsink off since i got it, it was used, I didn't drop the cpu speed... it is running faster, at a 9 multi instead of 8. clocks over 345 were pushing the htt bus too far over 1000 i think and causing it to reboot. I can try with a multi of 2 and see if i can get 400htt, but my memory can only do about 260ish max

Put your money where your mouth is and buy them. You can get the X300SE at the same time.

Good luck ! Top score is 19000+ which will be hard to beat. I did 19k with an X300SE but it is in the X300 class because of the 128 bit bus I think.
