just by chance ..hmmmm.... compared coolalers results on air @ 4,1
with his simple E 6700 B1 in a rather similar setup and was wondering :

he had a double pi 1M run @ 4,1 with 12,2 sec !
his 32 M time is 12m 40 sec @ 4,1

about 2 min. faster with 100 MHz more and +50 fsb ????

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=104484

whats going on here ? and this is on a MSI

I don't know why:) ...Sp runs with win. xp and set to priority, no complicated tweaks..

It just fun to torture this cpu with basic air cooling...I will slap it with my cascade next:)

different mobo.
compare with intel/asus/dfi's 975x, msi/foxconn seems the fastest.

Nice results on air :toast:

What was the actual vcore used?
Did you have problems with the high fsb?
As you probably know, the Vnorthbridge is linked to the Vcore,
in other words higher Vcore is needed for higher Vnorthbridge.
A bit of a disappointment if you ask me...

Hi Dumo

Nice chip!!

I want same chip as it. :D
In P5WDH, X6800 seems not to become x11 or more either.

It just fun to torture this cpu with basic air cooling

you call that "basic" air cooling ? don't get me wrong its good, but basic is in my opinion a setup in a box without a sidefan with THAT size.

when i saw the picture first, i thought you want to make your mobo fly away

in terms of performance .....you seem to be right Victor .. ;)
but....a double pi 1M run @ 4,1 with 12,2 sec
rather astonishing ... and unexspected .... 975x MSI the board to go ?

now lets wait for a coolaler... 965 MSI run ......... (or a victor 965 run ? )

me .... whoot ...:para: :para: :para:

Very nice to see more out of you Dumo...can't wait to see some LN2/cascade action, you've already come so far.

Can't wait to be able to afford a Conroe setup.

Keep at 'er man, but be sure to keep me updated over at [H] so I can update the Top10 Database regularly. I have a hunch that you might soon be taking over all the charts. :woot:

Dumo:

I got new bios from ASUS. Help me try it.

1. allows CPU multiplier adjusted to up to x20. please note that actual multiplier change depends on the CPU you have.

2. solves the Hyper Threading being disabled when Conroe CPU is installed

3. solves CPU Vcore showing "auto", instead of voltage options.

This is just about right where my E6700 (a little over 4.5GHz) stops on single stage phase. Although that was on a Bad Axe, may go a little higher with the new Asus P5W DH Deluxe. :)

perhaps he meant "basic" means anything short of buying time at NASA's wind tunnel ;)

great results Dumo, its looks like that most of the x6800 will do great numbers.
i wonder, is x6800 hoter than the E6700 ?

Don't mind the time:) Ran @ 4:3 on Infinity 975X before it gave me a fit with new beta bios.
TT big typhoon cooling..

I have to use (either) a "good" cascade or LN2 to open up this cpu. Hopefuly soon :)
