If you want to harass chilly then call him or email him or start another thread or something; I would prefer not to have to wade through a bunch of crap I don't care about every time I want to check as to whether there's any actual new information on shipping. I've been waiting since last August and see no reason to eschew appropriate channels in voicing my concerns. Let's not let this thread turn out like the last "Finally".

I just got off the phone with Reggie about 20 minutes ago, we talked for about 40 minutes about whats going on.

Here's the exact situation at the moment for anyone who's in the dark as to the current status of units..

Most (not all) units have been completed. The big holdup right now is the problem with controllers. They have a major software glitch which is scrambling the displays and making them pretty much useless. He is working with ssilencer to get this problem sorted out ASAP and it shouldn't be long before there is a fix to this problem. Jinu is also in town with the remaining parts for the units but they haven't been able to meet up yet, but should do so soon. At which point Reggie will have all of the parts to complete the units - the controller problems. Once the controller problems have been sorted the single stage orders should start shipping shortly after, which the majority of the current orders consists of simple single stages.

As far as my unit goes, Reggie was having troubles fitting all of the parts in to the case to complete the mini-cascade. It was just too tight of a fit for a cascade of any sort. Since I have recently bowed out of the PC overclocking scene and no longer own a PC (besides my crap dell which I dont use) I told him to cancel putting it in to the U2 and just build a standard -100*c cascade with dual 1hp compressors. This should allow him to complete it much faster than with the U2 setup we had originally planned out. With this said, I don't even need this unit anymore and will continue to try and sell it to anyone interested. I'd be looking for $2200 for it shipped if anyone at all is interested. I also told Reggie to not worry about completing the unit before anyone elses, so he is going to put it on the backburner for at least another week to get the controller problems out of the way and peoples single stages shipped. Once that happens he will get mine finished up and ready to sell. Reggie put in a large order for more of his evaps too, they should be coming in the next couple of weeks I presume so if you're looking to pick up the insanely nice chilly1 evap kit shoot him a PM as he will have a gripload in stock in no time.

On another note, we may see the return of the SX RAM Cooling bracket for DFI boards. Little did I know Reggie has an uber 3-axis routing table that he can make these on. We briefly discussed them being rebranded as XS brackets and being sold in the XS store as "designed by FragTek". So possibly be prepared for the return of the cooling brackets which work very very well.

That's all the news for now :) Stay tuned! Everyone should be getting their units soon, just hold on a bit more and let the controller problems get sorted. The parts are all their and many of the units are completed. Once the bugs have been worked out you can expect to see some tracking numbers for completed single stage units.

P.S. Reggie is back on antibiotics(sp?) to combat and help prevent the return of his sickness as he said he thought he may be coming back down with something but he sounded like he was doing rather well on the phone so no worries!

My order was to have my VapoLS modded* for use on a GPU and one of Chilly1's single stage units with a high capacity 1/3HP compressor instead of the regular one that he uses. They were supposed to be kept in the same case (not a cascade though...) that would fit under a Cooler Master Stacker.

*Sent in the VapoLS that same day, AFAIK he still has it.

BEhind still but progress today has beedn good... Temps in Vegas in the 110 plus range for weeks has kept me out of the shop and on teh roof tops.. (Temp In my shop at 3 pm today was 135F and at 2 am 103F)
As to shipping parts and units are ready for shipping and will go out as soon as I can get them out...

Took the work inside.. pissed the GF off but Gotta get it done...

unit is ready working on a workaround ont eh controller now I got one kinda working but it still glitches everynow and then.. I am waiting for kits from ssilencer and I also have t mulyiple probe controller that was ordered 8 months ago and it is still not here....

Probably more orders, it was not teh amount of the orders jus the fack that I was unable to work for three months and almost never came back out of it... then O well no worries finished a cascade ordered in SEPT by a helper I had which was unsuitable and needed to be redone and covered by me.. Well teh updated cascade was picked up by its owner and was finished while he watched... did a fwew extra things and incoprporeted a few new items in this one...

Barnz ordered the unit and has relatives here in Vegas he wanted to learn Phase and arrainged to build it and help... Offer si the same for everyone out there conme here and I will show you how to do it... I am limited on time as I am working over 90 hours a week and the last three over 100 just to keep my customers stores open and cool... I am using ever extra min to build phase.
I have no available working controllers, I have20 controllers that need repair kits and parts to get them out... I am working on a relay set and DC supply and hope the solves the error problem with them.. I am waiting to hear from ssilencer and golden on when things are shipping.
I may have to ship units with no controllers and work on a new controller with another manafacturer I am researching this now..
I have 10 units in different stages of completion and getting them out as fast as I can.
I am renting 2000 sq Ft shop and am interviewing a few peeps and starting a local AC company this will make it possiable to get units out at 10 to 20 a week.
I need to get everything finished up and out of here before the move so I hired a guy to help two weeks ago he is up to speed as of theis last unit and you guys should see some large improvments in shipping and builds soon...

I had a chance to go over the Cascade and it is so damn on the money tuned from experiance from previous builds that no adjustments were needed after being fired up. It dropped to -100c partly un-insulated with no load.

The valves worked perfectly as well.

Some concern with compressor noise but after a minute of run time it sounded sweet.

Sorry I haven't posted up earlier but as soon as I got back from my road trip I had to move into a new apartment. Anyway, let me tell you my story... The cascade Reggie posted on page 5 of this thread went to me. I origianlly purchased a small cascade from BB Mods who said the unit would work for a modern processor and regrettably I didn't know enough about phase at the time to realize this was bs. The compressors were way to small to handle the heat load. (silly me, I thought it would just run warmer...). That unit was never shipped and I got in touch with Reggie in Sept. or Oct. about the situation. He said he would do a complete rebuild for me. I sent more dough to cover the added cost and then I was basically in the same situation as all of you. After a while, I wasn't really sure what to expect. Not knowing Reggie personally I was worried that I would never get my unit or a refund. Many of my posts in the various Chilly1 threads reflected this frustration. So last month I was going on a road trip out west with friends, to visit other friends and do some camping, climbing, and hiking in national parks. This took me through Nevada so I decided to take a detour to vegas to see what I could learn in person and hopefully get my unit. I still didn't really know what to expect...
Well, after getting in touch with Reggie he invited me and my friend to come stay at his house while he built my unit. When I got there he welcomed us in, answered all of my questions about phase change and the unit he was building for me and was very hospitable to me and my friend. That night he and Fugger's brother worked straight until about 4 or 5 in the morning on my unit, slept for about 3 hours, got up, and kept working on it until it was finished around 1pm.
Let me tell you I have rarely seen such a work ethic. All told the job took about 12 or 13 hours of heavy labor, all the while he's getting phone calls from people he does normal hvac work for. Seriously, he must have gotten 8 calls from people wanting him to come out and work. The man is BUSY. And he took time from some of those jobs which probably would have paid as much as I paid for my whole unit. Reggie has been very understanding of the situation with my unit since day 1 and now I feel bad that I even questioned him about it. Having met the man and gotten a glimpse of what kind of a good person he is, there is no doubt in my mind now of the truth of all the various horrible things that have happened to him. But the man is a fighter and determined to get through it all and get everyone's orders. And I know he's going to succeed because he is just tenacious when it comes to working.

So the unit was completed and pulled down to -100c no problem. It has a TXV which allows me to adjust it for heat load and tweak it on the fly. It did -110c running full-out with no load. The unit is also EXTREMELY quiet. When it's doing its thing it's about as loud as a fridge, just a low hum. Fugger was right when he said Reggie has got this down pat. This is THE man to have building you a unit, and it is so worth the wait for that level of perfection. No one else is building units like these. I haven't gotten it setup to run benches yet but I will soon. I've just been having fun making ice cubes out of vodka =] Look for some nice numbers from me this year for 3d.

Reggie, if you read this. Thank you again. You are an honorable man and I admire your work ethic. I hope if I can get out to vegas again I can drop by the new workshop and see you making piles of money off of your designs and builds. You really deserve it man. Fugger's brother is freakin hilarious btw. Say hi to him for me and thanks again for the hospitality you showed us.

I'd say this is safe to assume.

I actually talked to chilly and told him to build my cascade without the controller (due to the problems they've been having) and just send me a UEI temp gauge with some probes conveniently placed. Should work out pretty well!

Yeah, I am having the same thing done to my cascade with the UEI multimeter, only I'm having Chilly build the meter right into the cooler's enclosure so the display reads the temps but has a more custom look. My U2-UFO case should look bada$$ with the cascade underneath!

Reggie is also thinking about refinancing his house or taking out a home equity load a second time to help cover the remaining costs of getting these things made and shipped.

Thanks for the help and support and it is cooling down here and we are getting units ready to ship this week, A few people have requested refunds and I will process them as soon as I can, Understand that I do not have any money back from paypal as yet other than the 460.00. Units are getting done as I got all the parts in and they will be shipped as soon as I can pics will be up tonight or tomorrow and shipping info will also be there... We are working on mass produced units from a manafacturer and better pricing for parts and a new webstore, I do have help now in a third partner and a new shop on the way, The income from parts sales lost due to paypal made it so I have to work the equivelant of 2.5 jobs to cover my debt, refinancing will lower the debt load and make the whole thing possiable just barely:)

SSilencer has given me a very updated firmware for the 1.2 version g-frosters it helps ALOT with the sceen scrambling. Just an option, you can PM him for it.

Same here. Next time I'm in CA on business I'll be visiting him with a policeman in tow. That way it doesn't matter if he ignores my phone calls or not.

Bottom line is that he MUST have lied to me multiple times. The only excuse he has is that he hasn't had time to ship out my unit. I would believe him if he had it for say, a week, but he must have had time in the last YEAR. Not to mention that my unit doesn't even need the stupid froster software.

Reggie has called me back. I spoke with him for about 15min. Apparantly my unit was not shipped out because he doesn't know which one was mine. I'm going to send him pics of the unit and and the details about it and he said he will ship it out asap. He sounded sincere and honest. Things were going well for a while until his wife left him. now he's paying alimony....moving to a different shop...has to remortgage his house because he's backed up so much financially and paying crazy interest rates and can't break even.. So put yourself in his shoes. I had to send my unit back twice because the gas leaked out because I bent a cap tube while changing the condenser fan. It was my fault but reggie said he would fix it in good faith. I'll pay for shipping and extra parts thats fine. don't kick someone when they are down. Reggie is definitely not a criminal. He's just having really bad luck lately. And this talk about going to jail is really ridiculous! Well said, trans am. I just talked to him a few hours ago for about 20 minutes and he seems very sincere about getting everyone their product whether it be a new unit or a repair. He has several units completed/near done so things should work out for everyone soon.

If someone goes off the deep end and gets him arrested, then he loses his house, his ex doesn't get her alimony, and none of us get our units! So, please, try to be patient! I have waited 11 months for my unit and as a result I will not be able to sell this unit as I originally wanted to. Could I call the LV Police and press a charge? Absolutely. Am I going to? Absolutely not! When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

To my knowledge, no one on the list of people Reggie owes units to is actually getting paid to overckock their rig and competitively bench it. No one is getting paid to game competitively. We all do this for fun. We do this in our spare time. The worse thing we do is lose a little sleep trying to get to the next level in our favorite game or trying to eek out just a bit more from our rig. Does it suck that we don't have our units? Yes it does. Put yourself in Reggie's shoes for a minute. In the last year life has dealt him a pretty crappy hand. Have a bit of compassion for his situation. Bear with me I will get it all done I want to return to full builds as I have some new systems with a few new inventions to put out but I am finishing everything up first. I had hoped to get new controllers in for the units I have to complete, I Am awaiting the final damaged ones to be returned so that I can ship the 16 controllers I have here to ssilencer for repair I will ask him to rush these so that I can finish these units. I have a few peeps working n a new controller and we will be usinfg that in future units but that is a few months out...

Well he accepted all the work in the first place didn't he? The first thing one normally does when excepting a job is to see if whether it can be done in a certain time period. He hasn't really thought this through and that's his problem! You can't promise the world if it's not possible for real!
