View Full Version : Video Card Bios?

I have a modded Geforce 2, to a Quadro MXR. Can someone please explain how to flash the bios. The card is originally a Hercules Prophet. I downloaded a Nvidia Quardro MXR file and the NVFLASH. I've done it before, but only with a Hercules bios. Thanks!

You would need the *.rom or *.bin file, NVFLASH, DOS4GW and a bootable floppy.

After I format the floppy. Do I transfer all those files onto the disk? I've got the .rom and NVFLASH on disk. What is the DOS4GW? What do I type at C:\WINDOWS?

Well I finally got the balls to do it. I officially have an Nvidia Quadro 2 MXR/EX card. I flashed the bios to "smq2mxr.rom" Wheeew, glad that’s over.

Yeah, that's the thing I hate the most. And try talking an old lady through it over the phone. that really sucks!

It always pays to have a cheap PCI card handy in case you have a mishap and save the old bios. I have my trusty PCI 1mb Trident.

So my response was 3 months late, better late than never right?

And to think... people think there's no use for a 1-4 meg vid cards anymore... I'm keeping my 4 meg S3 virge for whatever may happen... who knows... might have to RMA my gainward again someday :rolleyes:
