I'm currently building a computer for a friend of mine. It has the ASUS P4G8X as the MB. One thing i noticed is that there's a setting that allows me to set the DDRRAM timing to 1.5 (CAS i think). Do you think 2*256 samsung DDR400 RAM can handle that?
Another question i have is that how much juice can i give my DDR400?? Will 2.7V be safe without any heatsink?
Third question, sorry guys, but i need you guy's help. Will 1.7V kill an ELSA GeForce4 Ti4200 (with RAM sink)????
Fourth question, can my P4G8X only do DDR266 by default?? Does anyone know is there a multiplier changer or something??
Thanks for all your help

2.9v is safe for you ram, though samsung will prolly need burning in.
1.7v won't kill your ti4200, because thats actually your chipset volts. anyway it'll be ok if it boots.
you can adjust mem timings by using a software from windows. and will remember them

ok, thanks, how long do i have to burn the samsung ram? I assume it'll be running prime95 + 3dmarks together?? Is that call burning iN?
And does anyone know answers to my first and fourth question??
Thanks man

the i don't think the memory can be run at anything other than 266. well, without overclocking.

thanks, that's what i'm thinking of too, 266 is the only option without overclocking.

cas 1.5?? i'm not sure if that will yield the best performance
i would try the modded bios from the mad: www.x86secret.com
the ti4200 should be able to handle anything, even overclocked agp speeds
and you cannot change the multipliers on p4 procs, only fsb adjustments

they had this thing in maximum pc comparing cas 1.5 to 2 and 3 and it turned out cas 2 or cl 2 as you call it yeilded better results

ooh.. realli? That surprised me a bit.. cuz logically 1.5 would yield better results, but anyway, thank you very much .
