I have a Pentium d975xbx with a d805 processor...

I overclocked it successfully at 4ghz but it crashes whenever I run hmonitor or speedfan-- I metal taped a temperature gauge to my waterblock but I'd prefer to get readings straight off the processor. Anyone know why these programs might cause a crash?

Well i can tell you the gauge will be more accurate than any software program

Yes, the sensor is more acurate than any software.

Have you 2 different software (temps reading or rpm) installed?

Sometimes that makes it crash.

Does it crash when its not overclocked?

I have speedfan and hmonitor installed -- It only crashes when I clock it above 3.6ghz. I installed one after the other kept crashing.

The sensor is taped to the side metal side of the water block? How accurate is that reading? I read thats where I should put it.
