Currently I am leak testing a water cooling loop, but I have you use an old power supply to test this loop. The power supply that i was hoping would work was an enermax liberty 620W (modular). However, when I connect it to everything in the system including the water cooling loop and the motherboard and such, it powers the system for a split second, and I also discovered that it trips the circuit breaker.

I also tried hooking up just the water cooling loop but that ended up in the same result. My question is: Is this an electrical outlet problem or is the power supply to blame?

My Setup

DFI Lanparty Ultra-D
AMD opty 170
2gb's g.skill ddr500
evga 7600gt
2 74gb WD raptors
DVD burner (name escapes me right now)
X-fi Xtrememusic
Enermax Liberty 620W PSU

Thanks in advance!

Try just running the PS by itself (connect with a small peice of wire) the green and one of the black wires on the main 24pin connector (be careful). If the power supply runs fine then maybe it's the plug, if the power supply doesn't turn on .. either you're doing it wrong .. or the the PS is toast.

If in fact it is the PS, what brand and/or model would you reccommend?

enermax liberty 620W is great power supply, otherwise, try OCZ Powerstream (little noisely), Seasonic S12 (super quiet), Antec (reasonble, can be pretty quiet, depending on model).
