I know its probably overkill but hey. The stock cooler on the BFG PPU looks very plasticy and I'm imagining loud. Knowing the card uses the same mounting holes as a GF4 Ti card can anyone recommend any fans that are die hard and true to perform very well in terms of cooling but also at very low noise? Not much is known about the stock fan on the BFG but it's estimated to be in the 32dba range. Much quieter than this with better cooling would be ideal. Any suggestions would be good thanks.

I am wondering if perhaps the Evercool VC-RE will fit. This is renowned to be quite good at replacing the stock DFI chipset cooler.

Unsure if it will fit the ppu properly however. It has less dba and higher cfm plus is copper over aluminum. Should do well as long as it fits.

I put one of those on a Radeon 9800, worked loads better than the stock cooler.

If it can cool down a 9800 with ease, than the PhysX ppu should be easy.

I wasn't so much concerned about the cooling capabilities as I am sure it is far better than stock, I was more concerned with the mounting compatibility.

Thanks for the responses.

What's the distance between the holes?
A cooler like Zalman VF-900CU probably would fit.
Or Thermalright V1-Ultra, ...
Even though, it's overkill :p:

I decided to go with the Vantec Iceberq4 pro due to a recommendation of someone who had this exact cooler on this BFG PPU after his fan burnt out. Its faster, higher CFM and copper based which can only be better than the crap, stock, aluminum cooler. It comes with blue leds just like the stock cooler so that is pretty ironic too. I am going to hook it up to my Nexus fan controller to cut down on the noise when the card isn't in use as I really don't think it generates much heat anyways. The fan at 5v probably cools equally as good as the stock fan at full anyhow. I am of course going to be switching pastes to Ceramique as well.

thanks for the response. I will post another when the card gets here and the fan is installed and tested. Major downfall is these cards don't have a temp diode anyhow so I won't be able to tell exactly what its running at temp wise but can give a good response on installation and noise.

Takes too much room and overkill for that purpose.
