Has anyone succeeded in dropping the 2d voltage and clocks really low, maybe around 300mhz while keeping the xtpe 3d speeds and voltage? This card idles really hot and loud, i'd love to cool it down and give my ears a rest.
edit: i just found out that the latest rabit can do this.... i'm working on it.

rabit works and yet rabit doesnt work :(
I can set the clocks and voltage, even the fan speed/temp settings properly, however, i have three problems:
1. 2d/3d mode now does not switch at all, i'm stuck at 2d clock and voltage settings (untill i flash an unmodified bios)
2. My card, yes, the card and not the core, does not like any voltage below 1.175v. The core works fine at that voltage even at higher speeds, but the card glitches up. I think the vreg isnt meant to go so low hehe.
3. Rabit does not allow for a wide range of clocks. If i have the 2d clock set to 250mhz, the 3d clock slider maxes out at 500mhz :(.
I'm sitting right now with 250/700 with 1.175v on the core.
What I'm trying to accomplish:
3d core/mem @ 700/800 (stock for this bios) @ 1.45v gpu (1.475 is stock)
2d core/mem @ 200/700 @ 1.175v
Fan control:

60C@23%
62C@27%
64C@32%
66C@55%
68C@70%
70C@85%
72C@100%

untill i flash another bios or use atitool, yeah. i think i crashed the drivers the other day and corrupted some ati files, so i'm going to reinstall and see if it fixes the 2d/3d change issue.

Wow your fan settings would have your vga making excessive noise.
I have mine set as:
0/32%
50/41%
55/50%
60/55%
65/68%
70/86%
75/91%
80/100%

not during 2d mode. i dont care about noise too much during 3d mode

ok, i can edit the files myself by using a hex editor.
however, i need to know what 0x00000021 represents. it changes whenever i change either of the clocks
