I was browsing the online store from http://www.komplett.de when I saw that the PC3500 modules from TwinMOS would be available in about 3 days.
Anyone heard or already tested these sticks? I can't find any info on TwinMOS' site.
Here's the link to the store : TwinMOS PC3500 (http://www.komplett.de/k/ki.asp?action=info&p=32933&t=1014&l=2&AvdID=1&CatID=17&GrpID=9&s=pl)

hmm.. interesting.. better if it's using winbond chips.. knowing that the pc3200 could perform very well.. maybe the pc3500 will do even better :)

I really don't think TwinMOS makes any PC3500 RAM, maybe it's just pretested TwinMOS DDR400.
It's a good deal anyway.

The PC3200 is half the price of the PC3500 here in Norway. I dont see the point in getting these PC3500 when the performance of the PC3200 is as good as it is.

PC3200 twinmos is great and can do 230mhz+ w/ 2.9v at 5-2-2-2 so if this stuff is better than it may be able to do 250mhz!!!!
man you would get crazy bandwith on a NF2 board 250mhz Dual channel 5-2-2-2 maybe even break 4k

Hmm, interesting.
It says PC3500, but then says 466MHz.
PC3500 is 433MHz, 466MHz is PC3700!
Wonder which it is????

ok i called up komplett here in norway and asked them if the 466mhz was a mistake or what, they put me on hold for a few mins and came back saying its not PC3500 its PC3700 and they will fix it on thier webshop, they didnt knew if it was winbond or not since they dont have the chips in yet,so i dunno about that, still cheap pc3700 memory tho, think ill order me 2 of those insted of the OCZ pc3500 i was planning 2 get.

vr-zone seems to be confused as well. their headline states DDR433, but their text says 466/3700. wierd. also it looks like twinmos chips

Nice, im looking forward to Monday then :) I hope i get 4.3ns chips. But do you guys think that TwinMOS makes these chips them selves? My theory is that its just rebadged chips... But from who? Winbond? Hynix? Infineon? Maybe Samsung... Sure would be interesting to find out!
KingInge2000

Maybe Hynix. They got a DDR500 Chip.
If 5 ns are good 4 433, than maybe the 4.3 ns are bad 500er?

Yeap, got the PR today and hopefully the RAM later on ;)

BTW, where's the heatsink they mention in the PR ?
DuraN
03-05-2003, 04:33 AM
The PC3700 does not have a heatsink, and its not supposed to either.
"Some power users intentionally raise the supply voltage of memory up to higher than 3V, which actually damages the life of memory severely, and hindering the efficient operation of the heatsink covering the module."
That means that putting more than 3v through your DIMM is not a good idea, even if your using a heatsink. Anyways, i put 3.05v through mine, and no problems :)
