budget is gunna be around ....350? or should i up that? i don't want to spend what i don't need to. also a garunteed clocker would be gr8, and i'd be intrested. so if you wanna sell, pm me, got an adapter for pentium m? wanna sell it? pm me power supply and mobo too just pm me

Don't know about the P4P800-e Deluxe, but the P4P800 Deluxe isn't very overclocker friendly. (mine hit a fsb wall at 227Mhz)

Also the -e seem to have the same bug as the non -e with the NIC.. might need a PCI NIC for connexion stability.

well, thank you two very much for ur input....

also, does anyone know where i can get an adapter?

also which core? sonoma?? dothan?? banias?? which clocks the best? and where can i get a decent 1.5-1.8ghz modle??? pentium would be fine, but too much money.... so how much for the celly's?

also i was gunna get a celly with 100fsb but i hear that they clock like crap ... i'm hoping to top 2.6 because i want to have atleast that because that is what my last setup was....thanx

isn't sonoma the newer core for a different platform?

also, i read that celly's have boot issues with certain fsb's. also, i want to utilize my tccd ram, and i don't see that happening at 175 mhz, is there a way for me to " up clock " the ram like on a64's? if i get it to work at 175, the series processor i selected has a multi of 15 i belive, yes it is 2.6ghz like i wanted. but don't the ag/pci settings get screwed up? so should i get one with a lower multi so i can get the clocks to lock on agp/pci? what modle is the cpu with 13 multi? that way at 200 everything is safe AND i still have the desired 2600 mhz. but still, ram, how do i upclock it?

Don't buy a celeron M, they will get stuck at about 170mhz FSB. Also it's an old platform now.

ok let's make this simple ....... celeron m is faster clock for clock than a64. i should hit about 2600mhz with the celeron. my a64 was 2600mhz. celeron will be faster. don't care how old it is, it's cheap powerful and will work. unless you have a pentium m that you would like to sell for 100 bux?

how about a 725 then???

the dothan core is what you want. i have a 730m (1.6ghz) that does 2.4 on stock volts using the p4p800se. 730 or 740 would be the best priced dothans.

here's a place thats ells the adpater for $39 www.pagecomputers.com (http://www.pagecomputers.com/store/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Motherboards&category%5Fname=16g16c262s1370&product%5Fid=767889)

thanx rozzy, well i found a pentium m 735, it's not the 133fsb series but it's still a pentium .... so which is better a 735 or a 370 for over clocking

how about a 410? those have 133fsb, as seen here
http://www.pagecomputers.com/store/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Processors&category%5Fname=24g24c151s698&product%5Fid=1067803

89 bux though ... but still it's got higher fsb

110 bux for a 1.6ghz

410 and 420 chips are yonah? starting to seem that way ..... can someone plz verify?

Celeron 4xx is yonah and socket 480, you can't use them in the CT-479, i would take the 730 indeed.

Why not use ebay?

Here's a 750 for like $80:

i'm not sure if you guys are aware of this, but both the Celeron M and the Pentium M are socket 479, not socket 478. Same amount of pins but different pin assignments. you won't be able to run that processor on a socket 478 board. It wouldn't be compatible. the only ones newegg sells are for pretty expensive.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?N=2010200280+1070513560&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=280

these boards. the cheapest one is 145. Maybe I read this wrong, but Core Duo, Pentium M, and Celeron M are all socket 479, not 478.

well i guess i'll be getting a 730 that other cpu on e-bay = now gone

yea, figured the 4xx series was not for my board :( i would have found out quicker but assistance around this place is slower than hell, even with 500+ views on this thread, i still don't even have 30 comments
