3300 ghz for $349 sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

It's the upgrade chance of the century.

I'm waiting on more boards and woodcrest chips...I've already ordered case/accessories and fans... getting ready to mod the hell out of the Chenming 601 AE. 4x1GB FB-Dimm 533 was ordered a few days ago too, along with 147gb 15k SAS drive. Only boards and chips holding me back now

Thanks to all who posted ! My point in posting this was to see if anyone else thinks this would be a drop in up grade with a Woodcrest chip ? They will be available in a few weeks, and I do not think Dell would offer a system with only a one month life span. I believe the 5000x chip set supports Dempsey, Woodcrest, and the next Zeon as well. Bye the bye, the motherboard alone which supports two Zeons,32 gigs of FB dimms,SAS drives, etc etc. must be worth $600 or so. So lets hear your thoughts on it..

I've priced a few XEON 5000series mobos from supermicro...The cheapet that I found so far is about 400 USD http://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/dempsey.cfm?pg=MB

The majority of the boards there are available on google if you search for the exact name. As far as drop in compatible all of them say 667/1066/1333 so I figure the 5000x/ greencreek and blackford will support them all. I want to wait around on a alot of mobo reviews before I just up and buy one though.

Btw still waiting on Tyan, Iwill, and asus to see what they will come threw with.
