After being overseas for 7 months only having a laptop I want to go back into the overclocking business pretty bad. I really turned back into a noob there b/c I had so much other stuff to do ;).

After seeing so much incredible results with the conroe I decided to go the intel road this time. I will start with a Pentium D 805 and replace it with a conroe asap. I terms of gfx I will probably go for a X1900XT and the PSU will probably be a big one from OCZ.

After reading a lot of intel/conroe threads I think the motherboards to go for right now are the intel "bad axe" or the new MSI Platinum 975X 2.B. So wich one of either would you suggest?

And really need an advice in terms of RAM. I tried to figure out, by reading, what RAM is worth to buy but I'm not able to make a decision.
I definately want to have 2GB of good RAM, but I don't want to spend 500 bucks for it, so the bleeding edge uber RAM comes out of question. So what's worth buying?
(It was so much easier in times of BH-5 or TCCD ;) )

Thanks in advance!

The only conroe capable board on sale right now is the Bad Axe. As far as I know the Rev 2B MSI isnt for sale yet.

What do you mean with all of them? The Intel board is available, isn't it? Or is it not available in the latest revision (304)?

The latest revision hasn't hit most online retailers yet AFAIK.

you'd be pretty lucky if you got a rev 304 board from a retailer (Intel Box975XBX). Just wait. It's June, conroe supporting motherboards will be released this month. Not long now =D
