I've never built a Intel system but with these 4Ghz results on a under $200 CPU I wanna build a Home Theatre/Media Center/TV PC for gaming on my HDTV and want to do it as cheap as possible this seemed like a good solution. For clocking the DFI nForce4 series is where it's at so whats the board like that for Intel? Also what DDR2 kit 1gb is fine nothing super extreme! It's just for a Home Theatre PC.

well since i know someone else will say it, ill beat em to it. Use the search tool. Theres liek 1000 threads for what mobo for ____?
However, based on what you want, id reccomend an 805 Pentium D. Price is very cheap, and it OCs very well. If a buncha tard journalists can easily get 4.1 out of it, surely anyone here can do the same if not better. as for Ram, a gig should be fine for an HTPC, you could get some Patriot or Geil, good quality, reasonably OCable Ram for fairly cheap. Get at least DDR2 667, if not 800 for headroom. As for a GOOD mobo, its hard to get a decent mobo for real cheap these days. However based on results from everyone else, Asus P5WD2 series rocks with the cpus. So...
mobo: this is probably the best you can do at a reasonable price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131547
If you want a bit more, might as well opt for the 975 version http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131589
CPU: CHEAP! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819116001

or these for better timings http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227094
you will prolly want a good, quiet heatsink, so a 90mm copper zalman would probably be best, unless you are gonna have a big enough case for those tuniq towers, or even a thermaltake big typhoon.

I'm going with the Zalman CPU Cooler i'll see if I can fit the 120mm in there. Any info on these? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227046
I know it's 2gb but has anyone heard anything? ;o

If you plan to overclock it alot get a nice mobo like the asus p5wd2. If your only going to overclock a little or none at all the mobo doesnt matter too much. I have an 805d and with a cheap ECS mobo it gets to 3.3ghz easily.

Whats with all these IDE issues these people are complaining about on newegg with the Asus board? I'm probly gonna use my Maxtor 200GB IDE Drive for OS.

Who cares? Alot of people most likely, I know that I have 3 200gb ide drives that still work perfect and I'm not in that huge of a hurry to spend money on new drives wwhen these ones work fine.

I would check Asus's forums and see if anyone knows more over there if the problem is still around.
