Look great.
Better PCB lay out.
all solid capacitor motherboard design
And it should be cheaper than ASUS P5B deluxe a few bucks.

Gigabyte has one done one or two good OCing mobos.... That I know off... I have owned Gigabyte before. They are well made, but from now on I go with Asus for OCbility...

i like their boards for the most part, very nice looking and laid out, but in my experiences, theyve always had like 1 major drawback that kept it from being a great board. a buddy had a 955X Royal whatever board of theirs, and the BIOS was weird. It was a pain trying to find certain settings, and their windows tool, easy tune, sucks butt. Also, droop was HUGE! i read it was the same way for their 975 board too.

That looks awesome. Gigabyte S754 boards were the most stable boards I've ever owned. K8NS Pro owned.
Wow, look at those caps, voltages better be dead on with that sort of investment (from gigabyte).

The caps on the right side of the socket seem VERY close. Could be a problem for insulation.

Yup , too close :( :nono:

Lookin' good, and just when I jumped back in the ASUS camp, damn.
My guess is that the "close caps" was some Intel idea, because all the boards for "Conroe" have it up till now.
I hope it will be a descent overclocker... It would be worth considering

That's one damn "sexy" looking motherboard :slobber:
Maybee it won't have the functionality or oc'abilty to follow up the looks.., but better wait until tested before passing judgements.. :)

It follows "Intel standard Design"
All the LGA 775 MB is the same.

Now GIGA focus on oc'abilty,too.
From GIGA 975x , GIGA began to focus on oc'abilty.

Ave,
Does anyone know what's the model Name for this mobo?

i don't know about the buildup of current aircooling heatsinks, but i know my waterblocks won't get mounted with all those caps around the socket (or they are some sort of very low cap i've never seen).

ga-965p-ds4
interesting.. I have a small question:
With those heat-pipe on Motherboard, what happen if you put the board upside down (like in Silverstone TJ06 case) Does it work against gravity ?
I always wondered that..
btw, here is the Gigabyte link

Ave,
This Board definately looks awesome. Although i've been looking at the ASUS P5B Deluxe which seems to be amazing, Cost has been a big concern for someone like me who's on a budget. I don't know the cost of this Board, if there's a considerable difference, this might be worth it for me.
I had a few questions though, if anyone knows the answers to...
A) I know it's got Dual PCI-E Slots, but is it Crossfire Ready? The X1300's only require Software Link using the ATI Catalyst Control Panel. I wonder if that'll work with this board.
B) Does it support the Pentium D 9xxx Series CPU? They primarly advertised it to be a Core 2 Duo ready board... and i'll be getting that CPU sometime down the road, but i'll be building my system with Pentium D 930.
C) Does it have IDE slot? I think i do see one, but i don't see it mentioned in the specifications. I have a DVD Burner to plug into an IDE slot.
D) Lastly, i'm a little concerned about setting up a CPU Cooling heat sink. I'll be going with either Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro or Tuniq Tower 120. The capacitors around the socket look like they'll interfere. I've had that trouble before. Anyone got any comments on that?
Thanks,
Mickey
high quality caps, good layout, silent, 6 phase.
looking good so far, only gripe is, my experiance with a gigabyte board is that they suck for oc's but they are  ing stable mo-fo's.

You guys have to check this link.

There are 2 editions DS4 being the one with less features.
Better one is called GA-965P-DQ6
They really are boosting themselves on how great overclocking is on this one,and some strange QUAD-Triple phase design:confused:
AND they say it is QUAD-core ready:fact:

A) All P965 that have Dual PCI-E Slots really work as 16x+4x mode.
So whether P965 support Crossfire or not depends on ATi.
B)Of course. If the MB support Core 2 Duo,it must support Pentium D,too.
C)Yes.It has one.
D)I think that is no problem.

All P965 support Quad-Core ,anyway.:fact:
All my mobos were and are Gigabyte mainboards (since they fit well my needs).
GBT is doing a very good job with built quality, layout and stability.
For example only GBT between three big vendors (the others are MSI & ASUS) is still have a production lines in Taiwan, all others prod. bases are in mainland China. (So they a big cost disadvantage. This is a very good clue how ASUS is charging premium and better profit margin.)
Yet they always lack overclockability... Gigabyte was never good for supporting different RAM's esspecially which is a big drawback.
I'm using past tense because they made some transfers (engineers) from some other vendors and they want to play the overclock game right now.
I havent seen their latest products on duty yet my choice for Conroe will be either Gigabyte or MSI's new P965 Neo series. (Wait & See will be a good tactic)
MSI is also strong with their mainboard line and they're way past their BIOS issues; they did a big overhaul about that internally. Also the capacitors with the other components are very good quality.
ASUS have some serious quality issues for a long time (over 1 year) and for me they're relying too much on their strong brand awareness lately, at some point people will realize that ASUS is not old ASUS...

I'm not quite sure i understand this. I see two larger PCI-Express slots, which i assumed to be both 16x. But do you mean that one of them is actually 4x? And if so, it will depend on ATI if a 16x will work with a 4x to enable Crossfire?
B)Of course. If the MB support Core 2 Duo,it must support Pentium D,too.

I was very concerned about that. Sounds great!

if by good, you mean 240fsb bench stable on a 3.2c, then fine, but from my testing and use they suck.

Alot of people got more FSB out of them with the right set up than a Max 3.... But not all boards or set ups are created equal.... I still have mine laying around.... Cant deny that its on beautiful board......... I had a 3.0E Prescott and it wounldnt even do 3.6Ghz on the P4C800 Deluxe.......... I might get me another 3.0E and see what happens.... I have seen people hit 4.2 Ghz on air and almost stock volts on them boards, but the E stepping are very good overclockers.....

I liked Gigabyte's 754 boards. I had a K8N Pro, and it was a tank. Faster clock for clock than the DFI NF3 250 as well.
But their I975X board was junk in my experience. Felt as if I was doing something wrong, wound up about 500MHz slower than a P5WD2. The droop was a total nightmare, not to mention its 1:2 divider was broken, and CAS 3 didn't work either.
