Guys

Im preparing buy a intel D 930 with P5ld2 or P5wd2 , but im still using the old PSU Antec 480WATX true power.

Then the question is, my PSU will work with the new mobo or what, because im running it on my Abit IC7

Or i have to buy new PSU ?

Thanks :D

you will need an eps 8pin adaptor ( not for "standard" p5ld2 )...but i'm afraid you'll need more power if you are planning to do heavy oc ;)

My P5WD2-E premium will use either/ or 4 or 8 pin doesn`t matter. (no adapter needed)
The board even has an EZ-plug (molex connector) if you dont have a 24 pin power supply.

Thanks guys, but my PSU only have

AUX Power
ATX12V
3-pin Fan Sensor
Fan Only
20 Pin connector

So, that's is enough for p5wd2 ? I will buy normal version , because the extra - E version will cost me around 80 buck more @.@ .

Sure i will have to buy new PSU for my x1k800xt, but must be later :D

Yes I believe the regular P5WD2 utilizes the same options.

Your power supply will be fine till you can upgrade. I was running my 930D @ 4ghz with my 485 Enermax and had no issues.
I now have a 535 Enermax on it. :)

So do you need a dual rail psu for these chips or is a high power single better?

Personally I prefer dual rail psu. (others may have different opinions)
Unless your going for max clocks and cpu bench marks, I dont see the need for a high amp single rail.

Plus from what I`ve read, (could be wrong) if your psu has twin 4 pin to utilize as an 8 pin it will draw from both rails anyways. (this may only apply to some power supplies...not sure)

Hmm cuz I have an Antec 530 single rail and an Antec dual rail 430w(i think) so I wasn't ssure which one was better to use. The 530 watt has a 20 pin connector.

You don't need an EPS (8pin) psu for a "normal" 9x0 cpu. Only 955 requires that.
