so i used nbitor 2.8, extended voltage tables and selected 1.5v as my 3d voltage, didnt clean up voltage tables (guide said not needed). but ive had nothing but instability from the card since. it clocked less and it hardlocked most of the time. so i reverted back to the 1.4 bios. but i wanted to show my 1.5v bios to you lot to see what i did wrong.

p.s im pretty sure it reported VID 6 in rivatuner while using it, on the 1.4 bios its showing VID 7 ? :/

thats with a supposed (what i thought was) a 1.4v bios. so my card runs 1.5v default?? im confused!!!
its a gigabyte 7800gt 405(+40)/1000mhz card.

400/1000 alright. That sais it's a 1ghz ddr memory, which means 500mhz, and your rivatuner log sais 700(1400) which is most likely giving you the unstability. Without a memory voltmod you may not even get above 1150 or 1200 (600mhz).
Hope it helps. Good luck.

i dont know why that bit says 700, my memory clock is at 625(1250). it might be the startup speed, 700/2 so 275/350 bootup clocks untill it loads the drivers.
what i dont understand is, what voltage should this card use as default ?
