View Full Version : New opteron 146s - CAB2E/CACJE

Got me a couple of 146s - one to keep, and one to ebay or sell on forums somewhere. They're both E4 cores, steppings are:

CAB2E 0602GPKW

CACJE 0602GPAW

So which is likely to be the better one? Are either stepping known to be cold-bugged or otherwise broken?

I'll be testing these on a new cfx3200 I have sitting next to me, (as soon as I aquire a PCI-E vid card for it that is) so we shuld see some good results.

B2 is bugged...not sure about CJ :)

the B2 will rock under water.

Oh well, It's not like I can afford sub-zero cooling right now anyway.

Which one will show better results on best-of-the-best air cooling? 3Ghz potential here?

Well if the thread of steppings over at dfi-street is anything to go by, the CAB2E will be best. 3GHz should fall easily with those two.
