Hi, i recently got myself a 7900GTX (eVGA 630/800) and i feel that it isnt giving 100%. In fact after playing 2-3 hours of BF2 it started to give me artifacts, such as big black trangular lines distorting everything. And everyone will say its my temps, but they barely go above 60C+. Also when i play Empire at War, someitmes it will freeze for two seconds, which never happened when i had my 7800GT, it just lagged more. I need to figure out if i need to RMA my card back to eVGA. Last night getting the artifcats in BF2* made me go and test it on 3dMark and this is what i got.

*I read around and some believe it is a driver/ game problem. Some say they can do fear for 4 hours and have no problems, but BF2 will artifact sometimes within 20 minutes.

My score
3DMark05: 10500

From what you said, it sounds like you have exactly the same issue my bud had a few weeks back, with his 7900GT.

he called up tech support, and they actually told him to use the coolbits "hack" to underclock the card a bit, until he recieved the replacement card.

before the coolbits mod, he wasn't able to play WoW at anything over like 17fps, and it would throw artifacts all over the place. Used the mod, and was able to play the game at a reasonable framerate, but still had a few artifacts here n there.

It would do KINDOF the same thing in F.E.A.R., but the framerate wouldn't dip, he would just get the artifacts.

I would seriously try the coolbits mod, and if that does work, contact tech support for a RMA number.

This isn't your issue, but the two are probably related.
