Hey all,

I´m building and opteron 265 rig and i´m still deciding which memory to use, needless to say I will be using pc3200 registered ecc ram, and plan to overclock it (of course! i´m an xs member). So my question is: do you guys knows any reg. memory that can be overclocked? I know most of them are sever oriented, but if someone had ever tried some good registered memory please let me know.

Thanks!

Samsung registered chips would offer the largest headroom. The only problem is finding a board that will overclock the ram. FSB is not the issue, it's the voltages. No server boards let you jack it up enough to overclock the ram.

I´ll get an msi k8n master2 far board, coming next friday.Looking at the manual there are cpu memory and nf4 voltage settings, I don´t know what´s the max memory voltage setting in the bios though. I´ve also seen the asus k8n-dl manual, in that board you can set the memory voltage up to 2.9v (I think it´s enough for a moderate/good oc).

I´m planning to get these sticks:

if anyone ever tried please let me know if they´re good.

I'd go to k8we.com and check what the majority of ppl are using. speaking of k8we, I'd definately consider that mobo before getting a MSI. I didn't hear good things about MSI board.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunatelly the k8we would cost me almost twice as much shipped than the msi board, besides I´ve got worded a "review" k8we for the next month or so. For now i´ll take my chances with the msi and if i´m not happy with it I´ll have get the chance to use the k8we. Keep memory recommendations coming!
