...and Intel, ATI and Nvidia increase their share. ATI shipped 10% more GPUs than Nvidia in Q1 of 2006. The big win for Nvidia ?

"Nvidia grew its share of discrete mobile GPU shipments from 20.3 per cent to 25 per cent while ATI's share fell from 79.2 per cent to 74.6 per cent."

This doesn't represent market share or sales, it just shows shipments during the quarter.

Wow that is an insane amount. Did not know ATi was such a large player in mobile GPUs.

ATi has a few key contracts in the laptop market. That's why NVidia has been trying to get back in as of late, with laptop popularity always on a constant rise. ATi is also the sole maker of AMD Turion boards IIRC.

This one is no surprise, X1900XT/XTX dropped right at the beginning of 2006, while the 7900's didn't show up til the end, the 7600 wasn't out til the end, it was just the 7800GTX 512mb(which wasn't anywhere to be found) shipping.

Reason? Every other NVidia card already had ample quanity in stores.

That's shipping, not sold. Hope this wraps it all up for people.
