NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?DEPA=1&submit=manufactory&catalog=343&manufactory=1028&description=&Order=priceD) has them in stock. I doubt seriously that they will run out of them any time soon, but you never know.

I was thinking about it, but I wanted to see how they did first. They have to do better thatn my 2700 by a fair margin before I spend that kind of flash.

Same here. My XP 2700 is doin' just fine thank you very much. There is no way I'm gonna throw $600 at a chance that it might out perform my 2700.

I don't think that a Tuxedo, even as nice as OPP's, could be pawned for a 3000+ :D

I just can't justify the $ unless it is going to get a decent Prom. overclock, and no one has tested them at low temps that I know of.

Bowman has got 2400Mhz on air. If you asume a 3-5% increase in general for the extra cache that is a Tbred equivalent of about 2500Mhz.

Of course this is just a sample of 1 which statitistically is not the best thing to rely on.

The interesting thing we need to find out is do the Xp2500 overclock as well as the 2800/3000 ? That's a big difference in Mhz from 1.833 to 2.08 so maybe they are all the " runts" that AMD stick really low so they work ok. But maybe they are all out of the same bin?

We need more test results of course. The problem with test results being posted is that people with good chips are more likely to post than people with bad chips, so it's skews the average upwards.

Regards

Andy

$200 extra for .08 gigahertz? (the dif between the Barton 2800 and 3000). That sound rediculous doesn't it? I bet the 2800+ o/c's very close tro the same amount of the 3000 anyway. So I ordered the 2800 Barton instead.

The egg no longer is showing them in stock, guess someone is buying. Or perhaps they are going to be like the 2800 Tbreds.
