Hmmmm looks pretty nice, a lot more flashy than the traditional server grade Zippy's. Is that the only difference between the "gaming" series and the professional grade power supplies?

That is the only difference indeed, and this one is pretty silent.

I really hope Zippy gets into the high-end of non server PSUs. That way we can get their famed 700 watter at a lower price since they will be selling in far more volume.

Looks great though. I was going to buy the Zippy 700 but it looked too unfinished and I wanted the wires to be wrapped. This looks real nice.

I ended up ordering the new Mushkin power supply. I think that will do the trick and will have everything I want. But, if not, I can always get this one.

Yeah, the gaming versions (according to their NJ branch) won't be sold in the US, and the only difference is the sleeving and the black enclosure.

Single 12V rail and silent?

Where can I buy it?

Silent compared to what? A hair dryer? Any db numbers?

I don't know.

Pretty silent, but I sent a e-mail to contact@zippy-europe.com.

A OCZ Modstream is more silent, around a AMD socket 939 boxed-fan I guess, but the box says its a smart fan (load controlled?), so look at my sig to see the load.:)

Uh stock AMD cooler is not a good quiet benchmark.

And the smart fan doesn't buy me anything with full load all the time :)

The zippy server power supplies are actually cheaper because those are the volume sellers.

I personally dont want to pay 200 more dollars for something painted black and with cable covers.

As the other guy said, no difference between gamer and server editions.

Where did you bought this amazing psu in Europe? I wrote to zippy europe but nothing to do, they gave me contacts of shop who have only server psu...
Could you give me the link where you bought yours?
How many did you spend on it?

I bought the 600W version of this PSU (PSL-6600P(G1)) and it is rock-solid. Expensive (almost $180 Canadian, 2 week delivery wait) but it is very, very solid, and you'd have to spend a lot more to get the kind of current available on the single +12V line. I replaced an OCZ PowerStream 520 with it and the biggest difference, aside from the wattage, is the silence level and heat output. The Zippy is quieter and generates less heat.

I would have no hesistation recommending it to someone who overclocks etc. and has the financial means.

holy cow. I was going to get the $280 700w one, 45a on 12v rail. But this is 720w, over 50a on the 12v and its quiet.

I am sold, where do I buy??

Is one 12V rail better than two 12V rails, if both put out the same current? That is to say, is it better to have one 52A 12V rail, or two 26A 12V rails, and why? I'm building a computer for the first time and I need a stable and reliable power supply.

The single rail is better in that aspect that it's cabable of supplying the power where it's needed (so you won't be supplying 26amps to a mobo/CPU which doesn't really need that much), making it easier to work with SLi setups...

Dual-rail PSUs are better at supplying clean power on the rails, but not as much as the single rail of the other PSUs... If you can find a quality brand single rail PSU, go with that over anything with less than 3 rails :)

Will this fit in a Lian-Li PC-60 plus case?
