Hi, I am in the market for a REAL computer desk. By "real", I mean not one of those $180 particle board pieces of :banana::banana::banana::banana: you get at office max. I would like it to be hard wood, NOT particle board coated in wood-colored laminate.

It would need to have all the standard things of a computer desk, like a keyboard drawer (or have a lowered area for comfortable placement of keyboard & mouse), a place to put the computer, and a hutch. Anything else would be icing on the cake, but is not required. I can spend a max of $4000. Where do you suggest I look, and do you have any suggestions of what to get?

(http://www.biomorphdesk.com/) They don't have everything you want, but they do have some of the nicest desks on the market.

I got a nice desk from a local store around here called Unfinished Furniture. Pretty much it didn't cost much, very nice oak...and I even had the pleasure of staining it myself and getting the color that i wanted. It has a lower keyboard tray and stuff as well. Two side drawers, and a hutch. The drawers are very roomy. And it doesn't take up much room which is another plus! But of course, you can always go bigger.

Something like this will cost you around 2000. So, you can try looking around a local town or something.

And stay away from Lian-Li desks, they look like crap and are so horribly overpriced.
