I've started picking up the pieces for the next build. I want a psu to handle an athlon x2, 2 7900gt, 2-4 hdd, dvd burner and a Laing D5, and 6-8 fans. Any thoughts would be apprecated. Thanks

Silverstone Strider ST60F, it actually provides more power than advertised, and is extremely stable.

2nd that, unless you wanna go for a PC&P or the like, its about the best there is.

Silverstone Zeus 560W should do you fine (not too sure on the 7900GT draw though). Etasis made, supposed to be fairly darn close to PCP&C quality and close to half the cost (bout $125 shipped from Performance PCs)

yeah, i vote this gets moved.

but i say get an ocz 600w.

you can always cap mod it for extra perfomance.

700W FX700-GLN

It can be loaded through one rail. :)

The dream choice: PCP&P 1KW

The best choice if you don't have all that money or space: Enermax Liberty 620W

That's all there is to it.

If you like single rail go for the Zippy, Silverstone has the 750w model out now, I have the Tagan 900w it's pretty good - big amps on all rails (good if you like multi, it's very quiet and cheaper than the PCP&P versions too, downside is that is has a lot of cables that you won't use, they are hard to hide. Depends if you want single rail psu or not..

Sorry if it's in the wrong place. only reason I asked here was the pump. Otherwise the 480 watt tru power would have been good

Hiper Type R 580w Modular PSU.
:stick: what is wrong with you?
Hiper is not a Descent PSU, infact it is one of the few on the avoid list in the PSU forum

PCP&C 510 SLI! A little loud, but best PSU I've owned! If you aren't doing DFI as your motherboard (lots of problems) I highly recommend the S12 600 by Seasonic or the 520 or 600W version of the OCZ Powerstream.

pc&p is the winner. I'll have to start putting the money away, it's rather pricey, but I'll only have to buy it once. Manufacturer rates it at 5 years. That's alot longer than the systems going to be around.

and the OCZ also is an excellent choice

the 1% line regulation would put them in the same Performance range as the PCP&C.
You might want to think about them given your budget.
