Holy S***

Back from school today and I went on to check my stats. WCGrid.org did not update my score, so I went to Free-DC to check it. While I was searching of my user name, it did not appear on there as it was used to, but I checked on my Boinc Client and it showed that my stats are actually updated.

After I while I went onto WCGrid.org to check my results. I found out that one of my computers had LOTS of errors, 6 pages of them. Was that the cause?

Just need someone to tell me what the had happened?

If the machine doing the errors is over clocked ya ain't stable. Run OCCP, LINX or something to determine that OC is totally stable. If that is not it run a memory tester. If that not it post machine specs and OS.

No, it's one of the Dell P4 3.00GHZ that I just found in the basement. I am sure that it is cleaned up and free of dust problems.

I think it might help if I post the error message:

Need to stress test it. Maybe memory problems or other hardware.

That means the BOINC client was started and stopped too many times ... do you have all the power savings features turned off?
here's a link to a bit better explaination ...

Yes, but only in the number of WUs it will let you download per day. That number will move back to normal very quickly as each valid result doubles the amount you could pull. So even if you went all the way to 1 you would be back to a full days worth likely within 1-2 days.
Did you get it fixed?

Yeah, I got it fixed. Turns out to be that crappy, old Norton AV scanning the folder. I hope that it will be okay now. Thanks a lot for the help

Yeah, sadly my parents used to think that a computer will not run without Norton. How nice.

Glad yo hear you have everything straightened out
No matter which AV you use you should always exclude your BOINC folders from scanning ... not only can it stop you in your tracks, but even if it doesn't it may seriously slow down your crunching.
