I just installed Rosetta on a second pc. AMD64 3800 AM2 single core
But i'm still using the crappy boxed cooler , I hope it can handle the heatload.
I need better cooling , urgent
Can anyone confirm whether the new Zalman 8000 cooler is compatible with AM2?
The website doesn't mention socket AM2 , but I think it will work fine using the clips. http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/...x=203&code=005
Just installed BOINC on my iMac core duo, hope you guys dont mind me being a mac user . I never ran this when i was on PC cause i ddint really know what it was, but i do now and my machine sits idle while im at school all day so i figure why not.
yep its an intel mac, i ran folding@home at one point on a non UB at it was painfully slow, so i stopped. BOINC is universal, so its fast. I also have a macbook that i may run it on too, but i dont want heat issues
Depending on how long you've been running, you can expect your Avg credit to continually rise as I believe it is a 10 day moving avg.
Otherwise, I'd recommend goingthru your options and checking the "compute while computer is working"(if you dont experience any problems) flag and removing from memory.
Rosetta has moved to a fixed credit system (approx 2 credits per decoy I believe) so the only way to get more credit is to crunch more decoys. You may run an optimized client if you wish, but it wont assist in getting more credit directly, although it is useful in tuning your system.
As a side note, if you do run an opti and hope to participate in other XS team endeavors, I would recommend that you have a copy of the standard client (or a calibrated optimization) as some projects have expressly stated the wish for everyones use of a standard client.
Changes appear to be in the works to make a fairer b-mark but it could take a bit.
Holy dead thread.... everyone has moved to WCG, why not join us there?

I joined that Progress thru Processors thing a few days ago, and now I cannot change the account in the Boinc manager. Please help me so I will be able to join WCG.

Hmmmm... I'm really not sure what you mean but perhaps a fresh boinc install could solve your problem? If you have any questions about how to join WCG you might want to look at the stickies at the top of that section... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...play.php?f=207
If you need further help than that please feel free to pm me or IM on live msgr, loonym@yahoo .com or yahoo msgr, loonym

I thought that phrase "Progress Through Processors" sounded familiar...
Looked it up through google and it is Facebook's grid thing. I think anyone who signs up under that and installs their software is automatically assigned to Facebook's team.
