    Exclamation New Mobo Help

Hi. I recently replaced my old HP Asus mobo for the ECS GF7100 itel mobo. The thing is this is my first time replacing a mobo and I encountered some problems. First it wouldn't turn on but I switched the usbpwer and other ubs thing to pins 2and3 since I am using ps2 keyboard and mouse. Then it worked and the bios came on but it turned off after less than a minute. I decided to give it some time due to 1. said in the manual to wait 2 secs after first boot and 2. i was too excited and decided to read manual. When i turned it on again nothing showed up on the monitor and the led for the HD was not on, i don't know if it was on the first time either. So plz does anyone know any possible errors i might have done? Ask me any questions if needed.

    try booting with minimum connected.
also try booting without the hdd connected.

check all power connections. you have connected the atx 4-pin aux?

try booting with only one stick of ram (in the slot closest to the cpu socket)

    keep it simple.

is the cpu heat sink ok?

First it wouldn't turn on but I switched the usbpwer and other ubs thing to pins 2and3 since I am using ps2 keyboard and mouse.

The Jumpers are what I'm talking about. I tried with just one ram stick and it didn't work. I'll try your other recommendations. Thank you for the quick response.

Okay I tried what you said and unfortunately it still doesn't work. I first unplugged everything on the I/O panel except the vga. In the inside I first unplugged all 3 USB things and the audio and left only one ram stick. I pressed the button and like before only the cpu fan was running. I then unplugged the power to my HD and the sata connector, same result. Btw I reset my jumpers back to how they were before starting all this. There are some stuff I left out. At first it wouldn't turn on at all but I think that was because I didn't connect the F_panel correctly. When it did first boot it went to a black screen with system info. Then I went into BIOS and shortly after it shut down. I called a local repair center and we went through some stuffs. First he made me re-do my ram. Then he told me to take the power plug off and hold the on switch for ten seconds and reconnect it. I did and same result/worse, the LED for the power switch wouldn't glow anymore. My manual said that I needed to switch my USB jumpers like above if I want to start my computer using PS2 a keyboard and mouse. I plan on taking my comp to the local repair store but if you have any other suggestions please post before I go in about 20hours.

so i take it your'e not getting any bios screen?
it's not rocket science; there may be something very obvious causing the problem, but not knowing the board id just be reading the manual and seeing if there is anything youve missed.

you could clear the cmos (if it has a jumper) that can help, but in this case i doubt it.

i dont undertstand what you are doing with the jumpers.

could be a bad board or it just doesnt like what you plugged into it/compatibility issues.
RTFM read the flaming manual; if youve tried all options, then get the store dude to verify.
