people are saying to wait for the Aopen i975x mobo. but im not sure when it is coming out.
This is must be the mobo that creates all the buzz....http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/tm.asp?...page=1𞩷
I talked to Aopen San Jose and they said March release...
Tired with AMD's cold bug....I will jump ship if neccessary..
Is this asus mobo work ok?......http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/prod...d=fg&pid=13585

Believe me you won't regret. Dothan and now Yonah are awesome chips. I am waiting for MB too.
No, that asus board will not work with yonah
...
Initial run with this cpu will be with Asus P5WD2-E, I hope it will be ok. with cold![]()
Which DDR2 to get?
OOps, This Asus won't work..

actually this motherboard will work with this cpu.Originally Posted by Dumo
obiously the main reason is, sockets aren't compatible.
Ofcourse sockets are not compatible. It will not work unless asus releases adapter. Same was with s478 boards and dothan. You need asus ct479 adapter to run it.
...
the cpu and mobo are totally different sockets. It would be easier to run a 754 chip in a 939 mobo than to run yonah in 775.

Thanks. So, just waiting for now.Originally Posted by cirthix
Yeah, just waiting. I don't understand why you would drop $400+ on a cpu that won't have a compatable motherboard for a while.Originally Posted by Dumo

and this cpu probly will be a gem once its up and running..
Just get rid of my AMD cpu (and cold bug that goes with it) and its acessories, so its a new ball game.
@ least my cooling doesn't have to stay idle.
Edit:
Any decent DDR2 that you probly know will scale ok?
Thanks cirthix.

I'm also wanting to go for the Aopen / T2600 setup but I have a question. If a 479 pin yonah can bench / outperform AMD, then why does AMD need 460 more pins (939 - 479), or the socket 775 intel need more pins?
Thanks
I've seen it happen with the CABNE 0530 opteron 144/146 and so on and with the opteron 170 0530's.Originally Posted by AgonxOC
I've got a good feeling about that chip, now you just need that Aopen board....![]()
i would say power, hyper threading, hyper transport, stuff like that. But you can't really compare them.Originally Posted by derektm
