I upgraded my Power Supply today. I used another HDD and then my system came totally unstable. But the Power Supply was necessary anyways cuz now i can OC my GTX 280 a lil further. So imma hopin i can push my Quad also a lil further. Will try later and see what performance gain i can still achieve.

I try to lower the CPU VTT so keep the ratio between CPU VTT and MCH REFERENCE ( CPU VTT 1.28 MCH REF 0.75 ) and pulldown a bit so BIOS will automatic keep ratio to proper voltage and I think it's finally stable for E8600

@radaja,I really say I don't know What is PL??? and how can I adjust it in BIOS.?
For MCH Refrernce , You need to adjust voltage to keep ET6 see 0.70000 in windows (for me) what ever your CPU VTT is.
may try pangingIII 's setting also.

Any reason as to why you are using the F3 BIOS? I would think that the latest BIOS would be better ...

Heyy..Did anybody succesfully using S3 mode above 400 fsb? At default BIOS setting and 390 fsb with quad ; the S3 function properly.
But at 395 fsb and so on it will continuously reboot in a loop with a blank screen when I wake it up.

i've been using S3 at 420 or so. For other reasons (mainly my 4 x 1gb of cruddy memory), it's not stable in prime for more than an hour or so, but it does work fine with S3. Sounds like you might have a power supply problem.

Does anyone know how to set the BIOS so mem divider ends up with slower DRAM than FSB?

Select 2.00B(333) or 2.00D(400) at Memory Multiplier.

One more question did you use quad or dual because at other forum some other user with dual also succesfully use S3 at 400fsb and probably higher with NB1.3v ,disable USB Legacy and correct trfc. Probably I need to slap my Silverstone ZM1200M.
Or is it the BIOS or board doesnt work properly with S3 at certain FSB with quad core ? No S3 sucks.

    Hello All,

I am going to be getting the UD3P board and I am looking for some good memory recommendations.

I would like to get 2 X 2GB modules. Faster RAM seems pretty hard to find and the recommended RAM list from the Gigabyte site seems pretty limited. Any recommendations for 1300 or 1200 RAM that will work with the UDP3?

    Thanks for your help,

    -Jason

My board is the UD3R version
    I have a dual (E8500) w/ C0 stepping
I have all of the Intel power management settings enabled in BIOS (I think there are 3 of them, EIST and some C2/C4 settings)

I could try testing with and without USB Legacy disabled but at the moment it is disabled and S3 is working. I don't know how to correct trfc but if someone explains it to me I could do it and report (I good wif the maths) EDIT: i see on some OCZ page they say set it to 54, is that what you are talking about?

I feel your pain because on my old MOBO (Asus P5W DH) I would lose the extra .5 multiplier on my CPU when it came out of S3, going from 9.5x to 9x, which obviously was unacceptable. That is one of the main reasons I upgraded to my P45-UD3

    On the divider question,
I think my current mem settings are at 333 + 2.00 which with FSA @ 400+ is giving me 1:1 timings. I'll double-check that though.

2gb sticks that will reliably do 1200+ mhz are not easy to come by from what I've seen, and expensive if you do find them (the Gskill pc9600 2gb sticks come to mind). I was reluctant to try 4x1gb sticks on this board, but my four 1gb sticks of OCZ PC9600 seem to be perfectly stable so far at 1200 mhz with a fsb of 500.

I used standard and manual. Set to 5-5-4-15, the rest i used auto except for the pl9.

    AKHandyman,

i just wanted to check this board first release BIOS on some DDR2 RAM overclocks i haven't checked before.

    =============================

    545 FSB 1:1 PL9 settings at BIOS.

i think this's pretty good latency for 1:1 and at stock memory timing,
and it's my max PL9 at 1:1 for the RAM and MCH core voltage i use in the BIOS.

Gigabyte is pulling away even farther from Asus's $200-$300 Intel P45 boards.
With the ASUS, we all know pl10 is as low as you can go 1:1.
These UD3's are doing fairly nice for a p45.
Here is my Everest ss 490-530 fsb with 4gb (2x2) Gskill.
    These are pretty crappy timings.
I cant wait for my cas4 pi's to get here. Should help a ton.

Nugzo..did you manage to use S3 mode with your quad and wake it up successfully without constant reboot in a loop at that fsb?
Try pull some tRD phases..Probably get couple of extra point at the memory score.

You have an easy/not so easy explanation on what/how to set trd phases? I haven't tried S3 but i will now.. and I'm actually typing at 540fsb with a quad! Heres the everest shot like above.

Higher fsb probably harder to pull phases because you need more loose tRD. At 490-500 fsb I only manage to pull some 6 tRD phases at PL9.

Go to Channel Timing then put them in "Advance" ONE Channel at a time and test if it can post or boot or even stable.
    Try in this order. tRd Phase0 Channel A > tRD phase0 channel B > trd phase2 Channel A > and so on untill phase3 channel B.
Skip phase1 because I cant post if I put it to advance.

It just a little gain in everest memory if you interested. :P

Save your setting because I got a corrupt BIOS with F4 when fail pulling it and need to load settings.
